Hello Aspirant,

It depends on you. If you are getting CSE or IT branch then you should go for that. If you want to Study computer science related stuff, then you can take Mtech Integrated CSE with Data Science. Placement for CSE branch is good in VIT, and Data Science also has a lot of prospect in future. Although Mtech Integrated in VIT is costly but it is definitely worth it as VIT is among the top private colleges in India.

Thanks!!!

Hello aspirant

Hope you are doing great there . I am really very to say this but with this percentage you can not get a seat in CSE in JIIT , Noida because the cut off for cse in JIIT is 97% for cse . Coming to your next question cse at VIT, Vellore is much better than CSE at JIIT . This statement has been made comparing the campus and placements . In both campus and placements VIT Vellore is better than JIIT Noida.

Yes, RVCE, BMSCE and MSRIT must be preferred over VIT Vellore CSE, if you have a choice. Firstly, the Colleges in Bangalore have a huge locational advantage being located near IT and Technology Hubs of Karnataka as well as Top Research Destinations like IISc Bangalore and IIIT Bangalore. This provides huge scope and impetus to training and placements. Secondly, Taking CSE in Category 3 at VIT is really very expensive in terms of tuition fee, even if you get ISE, IT, ECE or CSE, at Either of the Top Engineering Colleges in Bangalore, thats preferred besides they having small sized batches, good infrastructure and strong placements.

Hello Aspirant,

Arch admission at VIT is done on the basis of NATA scores. To calculate the NATA cutoff, your board percentage is added to the half of your NATA score. A NATA cutoff of 142 out of 200 is a very good score. You can definitely try for a merit seat in your state counselling.

You have got a low score in NATA examination but if you have got a good score in your 12th standard examination, you can try in VIT for admission although it's difficult.

Hi aspirant,

Stars scheme is a appreciative campaign by VIT management that aims to provide poor, deprived and meritorious students from rural areas of Tamilnadu to study and grow at one of the top colleges in India. VIT Management Stands tall as it takes these children in its fold through the STARS scheme (SUPPORT THE ADVANCEMENT OF RURAL STUDENTS). Financially disadvantaged children don’t have to stop dreaming of becoming an Engineer. VIT STARS Scheme helps these students from under privileged background to achieve what they deserve by giving them 100% fee waiver for their academic and hostel facilities including basic medical expenses.

To be eligible for this program the annual income of family needs to be less than 1.5 lacs.  The procedure is as follows:

  • Top Ten boys and girls from Rural Government schools are shortlisted for the scheme (Government Schools located under Corporation, Municipality, Town panchayat limits are not eligible).
  • Such identified District toppers will be called for an interview based on marks secured in their Higher Secondary examination. Among them, one male and one female student will be admitted, after the results are published.
  • Final admissions to STARS scheme will be decided by the VIT Management

Hope it helps!!

Hi aspirant,

Providing the details for the PG's around the College is of no use. Vellore institute of technology is à residential college which means that  it is compulsory for students to stay in the college hostel itself unless they are a local candidate.

Hope it helps!!

Hi aspirant,

In my opinion CSE with specialization in information security at Vellore Institute of technology will be a better option than coe at Thapar University. VIT currently ranks 15 in the NIRF engineering rankings while it is around 26th for Thapar University. You will though not found much difference in infrastructure, faculties, labs and other necessities as both are excellent in this field.

The main reason behind my inclination towards VIT are the return of investments. The fee structure for coe at Thapar University for this session is close to 4.5lacs yearly while it is 3.03 lpa at VIT. The placements at both the colleges for cse are over 95 percent with an average 7-8 lacs at VIT and 6.5 at Thapar University.

Hope it helps!!

Hello Aspirant,

Only few colleges affiliated to GGSIPU are good and on the contrary VIT Vellore is itself a very good institute to be in (apart from all the restrictions, of course). Now considering the educational facilities, infrastructures and placements, I really don't think you need to re-think of getting admission into any of the colleges affiliated to GGSIPU through Management quota as what you have as a backup is pretty good.

Hope this helps and all the best.

See VIT Vellore have very good placements in terms of Computer Science and other IT courses. So if you wish to go for a MTech course then I would recommend you that its a good decision.

VIT have a very well organized curriculum such that the curriculum provides adequate skills to work in industry as well as to pursue academia. Also the faculties are very well experienced and are active in research. VIT offers a very good rate of placement about 91%. Thus if you want  admission in CSE among this two then I would say its better to go for VIT Vellore. VIT Vellore have very good infrastructure which is really  good fact for science students.

As per the latest placement statistics, VIT Vellore has a very good package with median salary to be Rs. 6.5LPA to Rs. 44LPA.

Some of the top recruiters in VIT Vellore:

Intel, Ebay, Amazon, Dell, GE, Texas Instruments, Schneider Electric, DE Shaw & Co, Hitachi, HP, PayPal, Tata Motors, L&T, Dr. Reddy’s, Bosch, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Qualcomm, Ashok Leyland, Honda, Ford, Global Analytics, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro and Infosys.
