Abha Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering, Nagpur Admission Process

Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering (AGPCE), Nagpur, has assumed a leadership role in engineering institutions. The NAAC-accredited institute provides undergraduate and diploma programs across various engineering disciplines. The desired candidates for admission in AGPCE are chosen through national and state-level entrance examinations.

Usually, the admission process of AGPCE starts in accordance with the academic calendar, with applications being invited in the months preceding the academic year. For undergraduate engineering programs (BE), admission is granted to the college based on the performance of the candidates in these two major entrance examinations: the generating Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET).

In order to be eligible for BE programs at AGPCE, it is necessary to have cleared an equivalent of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. There may not be specification of percentage requirements for these subjects; however, candidates are expected to possess some margin of excellency in their performance in these subjects.

Application Procedures

The application procedure for Abha Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering varies with respect to the program pursued and entrance examination taken up:

For Admission to BE Programs via JEE Main:

1. The candidate shall appear for the JEE Main examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
2. The candidate shall register for the state-level counseling program based on JEE Main score.
3. In the course of counseling, the candidates must fill in the college preference form, listing AGPCE among other options.
4. Acceptance at AGPCE is contingent upon allocation of a seat, whereupon the candidate thereafter presents themselves for document verification and admission formalities at AGPCE.

For Admission to BE Programs via MHT CET:

1. The candidate shall appear for the MHT CET examination conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.
2. Register for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for engineering admissions in Maharashtra.
3. Fill out the option form with college and course preferences, including AGPCE.
4. If allotted a seat at AGPCE, complete the admission process at the college.

For Diploma Programs:

1. Check the college website or contact the admissions office for the specific application process for diploma courses.
2. Submit the application form along with required documents and application fee.
3. Appear for any entrance test or interview if required by the college.
4. If selected, complete the admission formalities at AGPCE.

Degree-Wise Admission Process

BE (Bachelor of Engineering):

AGPCE offers BE courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, and Civil Engineering. Admission to these courses is based mainly on JEE Main or MHT CET scores. The total intake of students at the college is deemed to be 1,165 from all streams. In order to be eligible for the BE courses, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Diploma Programs:

AGPCE conducts diploma programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. This is for 3-year programs in general. Admissions into diploma courses may be subject to a different set of applications and selections based on the marks obtained in the 10th standard or a state-level diploma entrance test.
