Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing is a two-year (4 Semesters) full-time postgraduate engineering program recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.
M. Tech. in Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing is a program offered at School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus. The future of enhanced healthcare services through biomedical instrumentation lies in the design and development of low cost systems and solutions. The modern healthcare devices will be wearable, portable, energy efficient, and user friendly to measure and monitor in real-time parameters in both invasive and non invasive manner.
To achieve this we developed a highly multidisciplinary curriculum that can cater to all of the above based on our extensive experience in developing wearable systems for remote patients, lab on chips, effective analysis and learning of interrelated parameters using data science concepts, MEMS sensor systems, IoT systems, big data analytics etc. This Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing (BISP) program will use the principles of Engineering, Biological, Medical, and Management to solve existing problems in the healthcare field for the benefit of mankind. It applies quantitative, analytical, software and hardware methods which help in better understanding of basic biological processes and to develop innovative techniques for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. This course covers advanced Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing, Machine Learning based digital image processing, real time signal processing, Deep Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic in medicines and medical imaging techniques. The program Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing also aims at the design of new hardware architectures which lead to the development of innovative non-invasive instruments, which make it more comfortable for patients.

Pass with Minimum 60% in B. E./ B. Tech./ M.Sc in engineering or sciences discipline. The degree should be of relevance to the opted M.Tech program.
