Government Engineering College Thrissur offers a four-year full-time B.Tech programme. The college offers B.Tech courses in the areas of chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, production engineering and computer science and engineering.
Minimum 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together in 10+2 from a board recognised by Universities in Kerala

Minimum 50% marks in final examination of diploma in Engineering, equivalent to Board of Technical Education, Kerala

M.C.A. is a three-year full-time postgraduate programme offered by GEC Thrissur. The course is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Thiruvananthapuram and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Passed B.C.A./bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent, recognised by the Universities in Kerala
Minimum 50% marks in B.Sc./B.Com/B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level or Mathematical Sciences(Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research) at Graduation level from an institute recognised by the Universities in Kerala

M.Tech is a two-year full-time postgraduate programme. The course structure is divided into four semesters and the duration of each semester is six months.
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering degree examination from an institute approved by AICTE/UGC

While meeting the eligibility criteria, the following candidates are exempted from GATE/UGC-CSIR NET: candidates with master’s degree having three years of teaching experience in AICTE approved/NBA accredited departments or colleges or three years of experience in a reputed industry or have a fellowship/scholarship from a government agency.

If you were to take my opinion core engineering placements are good only at selective colleges otherwise most of the colleges give very average placements. The average package stays between 2-3L per annum.
So, I would recommend you to go for gec thrissur ece because it's a non core branch and you will get good placements opportunities in core as well as non core domain. You will have plethora of opportunities in these branch.
