The college has good infrastructure and a great industrial exposure. I gives a great help for research or any other projects. The hostels arent that good but its managable. Overall the college is a great place to study at and spend 4yrs. The faculty is friendly and the environment is always pleasent.. The fellow students are cooperative and enthusiastic

It's the ideal college a student would like to study in. Not too liberal, not too strict. The education quality is up to the current required standards. The methodology of assessing students is completely based on the students' level of understanding about the subject and NOT rote memorization like most of the Anna university colleges. So it is definitely the best option among private universities for students in Tamil Nadu and the surrounding states.

Yeah, the college life here is good. Hostel food is not bad. comparatively better than other institutions. A strict decorum of discipline is followed. Only thing hostel students hate is, We don't have 24*7 water supply. Faculties are good, the syllabus is also pretty standard. We have MUN SAE techno club. drama. arts. club.etc which is really nice Shristi the literature club is very active... GRE and toefel coaching is given also CIR trains us for placements and industrial exposure

Mata Amritanandamayi Devi is the founder and Chancellor of Amrita University. After reading reviews of this college on quora, I was with a fixed mindset that my college life is going to be very restricted and I won't be able to experience the freedom of any sort. However after settling in, I discovered that the reviews on most of the websites are not updated and the college was totally different than I imagined it to be and was happy to have come here with low expectations. A week of college passed by, the teachers were quite good and by then already many college groups had started organizing induction programs for our first years to participate and interact. The college schedule is quite a jam packed and we do have free periods on a daily basis however it is totally up to us on how we spend our time. The campus is beautiful and is right under the foothills of western ghats. The location of this college contributes to its scenic beauty. We have an amazing swimming pool ( Olympic standards) and sports meets are organized on a regular basis. The food here is good but, however, they do not provide nonvegetarian food so that is a disadvantage. Also, our college has a dress code, we have to wear the uniform to college. These few months in college have truly been stressful and memorable but we have to put in the continuous effort to cope up with the syllabus and stay in par with the rest of the classes. This year we were ranked the number 1 private university in India by the Brics University Rankings and is also one of the best research universities in India. It gives importance to value based learning and quality teaching along with academic research. According to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former Prime minister of India, "Amrita university has a major role to play in transforming our society into a knowledge society through its unique value-added education system."

The campus is truly beautiful, spread over about 450 acres. Definitely for people who are nature enthusiasts. The faculty is reasonably good, and the WiFi is fast, even if it is unnecessarily and heavily fire walled. Incorporation of yoga in the curriculum is nice, and most get placed somehow, even if it is in IT companies. However it is quite far from the city, and the dress code for women is quite strict(only salwar and kurta) as is the curfew. Everyone is supposed to be back from outings by 7 PM and some of the faculty are ridiculously conservative especially regarding interactions between opposite sexes. The campus is completely non-vegetarian food free. Attendance is a minimum of 80% and parents are informed via SMS every time students leave the campus, even for a few hours. Students are not considered stakeholders in the system, and the rules are a bit backward.
