College placements are really poor. The quality of faculty is also poor and they themselves lack the motivation to teach. I would not recommend you to join this college especially for CS ,IT & ECE branches. Although conditions are a bit better for Civil, Agri and Mechanical branches. But it gives you an opportunity to enjoy 4 years of hostel life with very little restrictions for boys, and for girls, i can only say that they will have to face a lot of restrictions in the name of security issues.

It has quite good infrastructural facilities but u can not use them because u have to come to the hostel before 6:30 pm . corporate exposure is nil .course curriculum is not updated since the college has started .placements are very poor for ECE only TCS is the major recruiter . In our department, only 5 faculties are there and most of the courses are taught by TA's who don't know anything because they are just B.Tech pass outs . labs are not held properly . and the most important thing if u are a girl student u have to live like a prisoner . u can't go outside the campus and the whole procedure to take leave for going home for 2-days process and even after roaming here and there for a signature of dean warden etc , there is no guarantee whether u will get leave or not .

Four Years in Isolation with the rest of the world.

The campus is peaceful, has some decent facilities as far as the computer center and library is concerned. It is a good place to prepare for some competitive exams for the future. But if you aim to build your career on the basis of your graduation degree , Pantnagar is not the place you should consider. It is isolated from all the events of outside world. The students live in their own world far from any competitive environment that can be seen in other colleges. The faculties do not have experience of any live projects through consultancy or otherwise so no exposure to practical work. The college does not offer any optional subjects for you to chose your area of interest. The only instances of interaction with outside world are during the fests, cultural and technical but they too have limited opportunities for fun or learning considering the strict rules of the university. The strict timing of hostels and no canteen or photostat shops creates lots of problems for the girls. As far as placements are concerned only one software firm recruits the major crowd from all the discipline, few other good options are available but only to the students of Mechanical and Production and that too very limited in number.

Not good for ECE, CS and IT

GBPUAT is the oldest university of Uttarakhand and people getting good ranks in the Joint Entrance Exam join it. I had a State Rank of 148 when I joined the institute . We had many batchmates with ranks under 100. But the quality of education offered is very low. Especially with departments like ECE, CS, and IT which are comparatively new and have a very average faculty. The Placement Cell is also too lethargic to take efforts for bringing good companies on campus. There are many restrictions imposed on students like a fixed entry time for hostels and permission issues for participating in events outside the college. However, the quality of students is good and you can expect a good peer group to learn from. Student-run committees work very well and you get numerous chances to participate in events. I would not recommend Engineering aspirants to join this institute for these 4 years are very important for a person's life and it would be better to join a better college and make use of it. However, if you are desperate to pursue Engineering and have no better option, go for it to get a good peer group, participate in a lot of events and also to prepare for PG entrance exams or Jobs .
