Government Engineering College, Banka (GEC Banka) is a comparatively younger college with various engineering courses for future technologists. The college follows a merit-based admissions process for B.Tech courses to maintain a competitive and fair selection process. GEC Banka's admission process is primarily based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Admission process normally follows the time schedule of the JEE Main examination, which is normally conducted twice a year. If the candidate is interested in applying for B.Tech courses in GEC Banka, he/she is required to appear in the JEE Main exam as the first step towards the admission process. After achieving their JEE Main rank, shortlisted candidates are required to appear in the Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling for admission to their preferred B.Tech course.
To join GEC Banka, the students have to consider the counselling process of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) also.
The counselling of BCECE takes into consideration two factors:
1) JEE Main rank
2) performance in the BCEC Examination.
By keeping national-level and state-level examination performance in mind, both are covered in the admission process.
