Government Engineering College Daman (GEC Daman) is a government engineering college. The college offers various B.Tech programs and has had a holistic admission process for selecting those deserving. The admission process at GEC Daman is entirely carried out by entrance examinations-mostly JEE Main and GUJCET. 

These exams are usually declared, and the admission cycle is open shortly thereafter. The JEE Main is a pan-India test, while GUJCET is relevant only to Gujarat. The candidates must appear for these tests and obtain cutoff ranks. The merit list for admission into GEC Daman is drawn on the basis of entrance exam performances. 

The eligibility criteria for admission in B.Tech programs in GEC Daman are as given:

• Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with core subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
• Score qualifying marks in JEE Main or GUJCET
• Any further criteria laid down by the institute or admitting authority

Application process

The application process for GEC Daman admission is composed of a few stages, as follows:

1. Appearance in the JEE Main or GUJCET entrance examination

2. After results declaration, visit the official GEC Daman or the admitting authority website where GEC Daman admission information is given

3. Fill in the online application form with true and complete personal and academic data

4. Upload the following documents, usually:

• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
• Entrance exam score card
• Domicile certificate (if applicable)
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Recent passport-size photographs

5. The application fee is to be paid through the prescribed method

6. Submit the completed application form

7. Wait for the merit list to be published

Degree-Wise Admission Process

B.Tech Programs:

GEC Daman runs five different B.Tech programs, each sanctioned for an intake of 60 students. The admission procedure is the same for all B.Tech programs, namely, based on their respective entrance examination scores. 

The B.Tech programs available are:

1. B.Tech in Civil Engineering
2. B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
3. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
4. B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering
5. B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering

The procedure for admission to all of these programs is as follows:

• Appear for either JEE Main or GUJCET
• A merit list will be prepared based on the performance in these entrance examinations
• From the merit list, candidates will be selected

This process is also open for admission to these programs on the basis of any other state-level entrance, MH-CET. This allows students from other regions to seek admission to GEC Daman.
