The admissions at GPT Bellary are conducted as per the guidelines issued by the Department of Technical Education, Karnataka. The admissions are done on the basis of merit according to marks obtained in the qualifying exam. The seats at Government Polytechnic Bellary are filled through centralised online non-interactive counselling conducted by the DTE. The total number of seats at the institute is 480 (60 seats for each of the branches).

• Candidates must visit the polytechnics to complete the application formalities.

• Online choice filling by the candidates.

• Publication of seat allotment by the authorities.

• Reporting at the institute with the documents and paying the required fees.
