Government Polytechnic College is a well-famed technical institution at Watpora, Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir. It runs diploma courses on engineering and hospitality, with the intention of pursuing quality technical education to meet market demands. The admission process of the Government Polytechnic College, Bandipora is done through the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE), Jammu, and Kashmir Government.

The admission process usually starts in August for the newest academic session each year. Admissions are based on inter-se merit and counseling alone. 

To be eligible for any diploma course, candidates must have passed the 10th standard. Degree wise Admission Process

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: This is a program of three years, having the approved intake of 60 students. Admission process is being done by the State Board of Technical Education of UT J&K. Candidate must have passed 10th standard and must fulfill the required percentage as per their category (40% for open category, 37% for SC/ST/OBC).

Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Administration: This is a 3-year program with approved intake of 60 as well. Admission process for the program is similar to that for Mechanical Engineering, to be conducted by the State Board of Technical Education of UT J&K. Eligibility criteria remain the same as mentioned for the Mechanical Engineering program.

Diploma in Civil Engineering: This is a newly initiated 3-year program with a permitted intake of 30 students. Admission procedure and eligibility criteria are similar to those of the other diploma programs being offered by the college.
