Impact Polytechnic, Bangalore Admission Process
Bangalore's Impact Polytechnic maintains an established quality for various types of diploma courses in diverse engineering subjects. The institution holds affiliation with AICTE. Under the centralized admission procedure for all diploma programs at Impact Polytechnic, such admissions are governed on a merit basis under the Directorate of Technical Education of the Government of Karnataka, making the process for granting admission to all diploma programs in the institute simple and well defined.
While the transparent admission scheme works on a merit basis, under the policy of the Government of Karnataka the seats are distributed; thus, equal opportunity is ensured, and consideration for the applicants is in place. Under this centralized scheme, candidates are selected in polytechnics across the state. To meet the students' interests as well as the industries' demands, Impact Polytechnic offers nine full-time diploma courses in engineering disciplines.
Eligibility: To be eligible for diploma admission, candidates must have passed the 10th or 12th standard with relevant subjects depending on the chosen program. Each program has its preferred subject background, such as Mathematics, Physics, or technical aptitude, aligning with the discipline of study.
Application Process
The admission process for Impact Polytechnic, Bangalore, is being run through a centralized system by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka. The application procedure is given in a stepwise manner:
Notification: Watch for notifications about diploma admissions on the official website of the Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka.
Online Application: When the portal opens, complete the online application form by filling in all personal and academic information as required.
Uploading of Documents: All documents such as the 10+2 mark sheet, a domicile certificate, a category certificate (if applicable), and any other documents requested in the notification should be scanned and uploaded.
Application Processing Fee: The application processing fee must be paid online by means determined in the prospectus.
Merit List: The Directorate will prepare a merit list based on the marks and any other conditions for admission laid down.
Counseling: Candidates shall be called for counseling during which they shall be given the opportunity to choose their course and college as per merit rank from among the available options.
Seat Allotment: Seats shall be allotted on the basis of candidate choices, availability of seats, and reservation policies.
Fee Payment: Candidates will have to pay the fees to confirm their seat at Impact Polytechnic once it has been allotted.
Document Verification: Candidates shall report for verification with all original documents to Impact Polytechnic on the given date.
Confirmation of Admission: After the verification of documents and payment of fees, the admission process shall be deemed to be completed.
Degree-wise Admission Process
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is the biggest program at Impact Polytechnic, with 120 intakes. The course is based on merit and follows a centralized process operated by the Directorate of Technical Education. For admission, candidates must ideally possess a 10+2 in specified subjects.
Diploma in Civil Engineering: With an intake of 90, this process too is a centralized one. Those aspiring to join should preferably have a higher level of competence in mathematics and physics from their 10+2 studies.
Diploma in Architecture Assistantship: This program has 60 seats and so it will be suitable for aspirants who would like to study architectural design. Admission is strictly on merit through the centralized prospectus which takes into consideration the marks obtained by candidates in relevant subjects in the 10+2 examination.
Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering: The intake for this course is 60 students. Admission is through merit under the centralized process; students with a strong aptitude for mathematics and computer science in their past studies are favored.
Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: For this program, 60 students are accepted through the centralized merit admission procedure. Students with a solid knowledge base in physics and mathematics are better suited to this course.
Diploma in Automobile Engineering: This program will focus on automobile technology with an intake of 45 students. The merit-based admission system will focus on the performance of the candidate in the aforementioned subjects, based on centralized admission.
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 45 students would be admitted in this discipline through the centralized process depending on their performance in physics and mathematics in the 10+2 level that would duly merit consideration.
Diploma in Machine Tools Technology: The program offers 30 seats, being specialized in merit admission through the centralized admission process. It suits students interested in manufacturing and production technology.
