90% of the students admitted are taken from the counselling conducted through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination counselling and rest 10% from All India JEE Mains. College also has NRI & Foreign Student quota.

College Infrastructure
The college infrastructure is good but the campus area is a bit small. But we do have 3 campuses of this college. The labs are good and well equipped with all the required instruments. College doesn't have hostel but you would find hostels near college.

College Infrastructure
IEM,Kolkata has total three main buildings out of which two are for engineering students.They are located near big companies like TCS,etc.The college comprises of classrooms equipped with cctv cameras,projector,etc.The laboratories have proper machines and well maintained equipments which are used in the experiments.It has a big canteen along with cafe coffee day.Each semester we can borrow subject books from 24/7 AC library .It also has basket ball court and hostel for boys and girls .
