The Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management, at Srinagar, is a reputed private institute in Jammu and Kashmir. It provides several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes connected to computer applications and business studies. The Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management admission process thus involves entering into the admission procedures, which, through various entrance exams and merit criteria, select capable candidates. For undergraduate admissions to programmes like BCA and BBA, the criteria for admittance are mainly guided by performance on the aforementioned board examinations at the level of 12th standard.
Such postgraduate programmes as MBA and MCA do include entrance examinations, administered in cooperation with the University of Kashmir. Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management is also part of the CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates). The entrance exam is expected to be of national importance and will also prove important in the final selection process for various undergraduate courses offered by the institute. The Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management eligibility criteria for each programme differ. Undergraduate eligibility requires completion of 10+2 from a recognised board. For postgraduate study, a relevant bachelor's degree is needed. The next section details the eligibility for the different programmes.
The application process for Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management, Srinagar, varies for different programmes:
The institute offers admission to the following four full-time programmes: BCA, BBA, MBA, and MCA.
The admission procedure for BCA in Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management is based on merit. Although there is no particular informality regarding the admission procedure, most probably, the selection will be made on the marks obtained in the 12th standard regarding subjects pertinent to computer applications.
Merit-based admission is followed by IITM with regard to admission for BBA. The major concern for the candidate's selection seems to be on the candidate's performance in the 12th class board examinations (CBSE or state board). This way, students with previous strong academic backgrounds are rewarded.
The method of admission into the MBA programme at IITM is competitive based on the CMAT score. Eligible applicants are screened through their CMAT performance, while the University of Kashmir prepares the final list of selectees for this programme.
For the MCA programme, IITM retains the entrance test as the process of admission. Eligible candidates are required to appear for an Entrance Test conducted by the University of Kashmir. Students will then be selected for admission through university performance in this entrance exam.
All the required documents must be compiled and submitted by eligible students to proceed with Iqbal Institute of Technology and Management admission.
