Jangipur Government Polytechnic, Murshidabad Admission Process

Among the Government Polytechnics of West Bengal, Jangipur Government Polytechnic, Murshidabad, is actually a polytechnic institute attached under West Bengal University of Technology. The institute admits students fulfilling all prescribed eligibility criteria on the basis of the competitive entrance examination for diploma programmes at Jangipur Government Polytechnic. The Jangipur Government Polytechnic admission policy is rigid and is ranked by the performance of the candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal (JEXPO). This entrance examination is the only way for candidates to be admitted to the various diploma courses provided by the institute. The JEXPO is conducted every year under the aegis of the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD) for the admission of students in the different polytechnic institutes in the state.

Students wishing to gain admission into Jangipur Government Polytechnic should qualify in JEXPO. The examination usually comprises papers that deal with the subject areas of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, thereby measuring candidates' understanding of each concept and orientation toward technical education. The exact dates for the JEXPO examination, application process, and announcement of results are usually published on the WBSCTVESD's official website. To gain entry into the diploma programmes at Jangipur Government Polytechnic, it is a requirement that candidates should have passed successfully the 10th standard (Madhyamik) or the equivalent examination recognised by any other board. Mathematics, Physical Science, and English had to be studied as compulsory subjects along with the qualifying examination.
