Jettwings Business School (JBS), with its origin in Guwahati in Assam, has expanded its portfolio in the arena of business, aviation, hospitality, and tourism management to offer very comprehensive admission processes for its numerous diversified programs. JBS is aimed at selecting bright students motivated through a very rigorous selection procedure. JBS accepts scores for admission from various national-level entrance exam tests conducted across the country for a fair and competitive process. Undergraduate programs would require students to pass the Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT) and then proceed for a personal interview. JBS beats this by being able to appraise both academic aptitude and personal qualities of applicants with this two-step approach. Admission tests for UGAT usually take place in June, while the last day to submit applications for the paper-based test typically falls around that time (June 5).
For postgraduate degrees, admissions at JBS are involved through more evaluation processes than that. The institute takes admission test scores based on a number of these national-level tests, Common Admission Test (CAT) and Management Aptitude Test (MAT), JBS conducts and considers scores for the entrance tests stipulated from Gauhati University and Assam Science and Technology University for its postgraduate programs. Specialized courses such as Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) are taken through a unique "Skill O Metric Test" followed by a personal interview at JBS. This way, the institute assesses the relevant specific skills and aptitudes successful in these specialized fields, for example, aviation, hospitality, and tourism management.
Application Process
The application process, which varies depending on program and generally speaking, Jettwings Business School also follows:
1. Entrance Exam: For undergraduate programs, UGAT is the relevant entrance exam, while CAT, MAT or others specified would be for the postgraduate programs
2. Application Form: After entrance examination scores have been obtained, candidates need to complete the JBS application form. This form is usually made available on the official JBS website.
3. Document Submission. Alongside with the application form, candidates have to submit necessary documents, which would include:
4. Application Fee: Candidates have to pay the application fee prescribed by the institute.
5. Entrance Test/Skill O Metric Test: An entrance test or, in the case of certain programs, particularly postgraduate ones, a Skill O Metric Test may be implemented by JBS for selection of students.
6. Personal Interview: A personal interview is called for shortlisted candidates. Major consideration is acquired for this process where the institute assesses one's personality and communication skills plus appropriateness to the program of one's choice.
7. Final Decision: The final selection decision will be determined by JBS by assessing the performance of the candidate in the given entrance exam, application review, and personal interview.
8. Confirmation of Admission: The confirmed chosen candidates must submit their fees and other required documents at the specified time.
Degree wise Admission Process
BBA Programmes: JBS offers courses in specialized BBA, such as BBA in Aviation Management, BBA in Hospitality Management, BBA in Travel and Tourism Management, and BBA in Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism Management. All these programs have admission procedures based on UGAT scores followed by personal interview and aptitude tests for management studies for such candidates who complete their 10+2 education.
B.Com Program: The admission process for the B.Com course at JBS also considers UGAT scores, followed by a personal interview to enter into it, quite helpful for students intending to join the commerce field and the business.
PGDBA Program: PGDBA in Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism Management has a special admission process under which it consists of a "Skill O Metric Test" to measure some skills pertinent to these industries and a personal interaction thereafter.
MBA/PGDM Admissions: For applying to the MBA or PGDM program, JBS accepts scores of national-level examinations conducted by such as CAT and MAT. The MAT exam is usually conducted many sessions in a year's time. The deadlines for application fall around March for different modes, such as online and paper-based. For final rounds of selection, usually through group discussions and personal interviews, candidates are shortlisted based on scores obtained on the examination.
