Yes the college have all the necessary infrastructure , facilities and equipment. There are many facilities in the classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sport centers and hostels. They are all used and maintained.
I am studying Ba. hons. Political science and I am in the third year of my graduation. The quality of teaching is very good,Thu curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field.
The quality of placements are really high. About 50 % of the students are placed. The highest salary package was offered to the Economics department. About six lakh was offered as the annual salary for the students.
The cost of the course per year is between 15000-12000. Yes, ofcourse I feels that I am getting my money's worth. Even those who are studying in my neighborhood areas are paying more fees even for six months.
The college campus is really awesome. But the campus life is not that very active. The students are always busy with academic purposes and other events. The time for interaction is less as compared to the college life of other people.
The college life is awesome, it's great. I am truly happy to be a part of this community . The infrastructure, faculty, student community, other workers all are truly supportive.
we have very good facilities and infrastructure with media lap. Library and reference room with Wi-Fi connection is available for all students. Exhibition hall, Amphitheatre, garden area are there for extra activities. Well managed and hygienic canteen and living spaces are another attraction. Vast campus area which contain classes with smart boards and all equipment's are well managed. Hostel facility is available for students. Sports area is specially allotted in the campus itself.
I'm doing BA Journalism Hons because I have great interest in writing and framing my skill. The quality of education is really great as we have a very good faculty. The syllabus is up-to-date with technical and theory reference which includes all the developments in the field. Studying technical and theoretical aspects at the same time is a good asset as we would be able to have a career on these two field of our choice.
We have a highly active placement cell for all internships and placement opportunity. 21.0% for Science, 20.0% for Commerce and 59.0% for Humanities are the stream wise placements for the year 2019-20. The placement process is easy for all students and college is really supportive throughout the process. The highest package offered stands at INR 37.8 lakh and the average package offered this year witnessed a leap from last year with INR 7.5 lakhs.
In each year we have to pay an annum of almost 25000 INR. The tuition fee is really money's worthy as we have a Media lap facility along with workshops and guest lecturer facility is also provided. There are scholarships for students, so that meritorious students will get the paid fee back.
College campus is 5 acres which include the new and old academic building with canteen, exhibition hall, tut block, amphitheater, sports ground, garden area, lawns and so on. The only worst feature is the bad Wi-Fi connection all over college except Reference room. LSR has 20 clubs for extra curricular activities. In addition to this, there is also compulsory enrollment in NSS, NSO,NCC. Location is at Lala Lajpat Rai Rd, Lajpat Nagar IV, New Delhi and its a safe area for students.
I had very good experience from my campus so far. My skills got enhanced and gained so many new things and knowledge from LSR. The exposure made a great impact on me. College societies and NSS had played an important role.
The college has really good infrastructure, it has an auditorium, smart board in many classes and other necessary facilities. There 40+ societies to enhance your hobbies and interests. The food at cafeteria is very affordable and it serves both veg and non-veg. There is a three storey library, filled with books from tons of genre and discipline.
Lady Shri ram college stands at no.2 according to NIRF ranking 2020. I am pursuing my bachelor's in elementary education, it is a four year professional course. My curriculum is updated almost every year and it is very contextual and contemporary in nature. It changes the personality of students and make them visionary and a leader. Since it's a professional courses, you are eligible to teach students after this course and the college also has placement cell, so it provides you with a job.
The course involves three years of education with an year of experience at government school teaching. It provides you with placement in your last semester. You are qualified as a teacher at the end of this course.
The education here is subsidies as it is a government college. The annual fees in the first year is 19000 and for the next three years it is 16,500. The education is worth the money. You learn so much, you become a professional teacher with loads of field work and work experience.
The campus is so beautiful. It's full of hundreds of various kind of plants. The beautiful red walls and three lawns is what it is known for. There's a pond and many adorable dogs there. The faculty is very supportive and encouraging. It is in moolchand and the area is very safe, with 24*7 availability of police and hospital is half a km away. It also has the best food and shopping area within a km.
The cut-offs are really high if you want to pursue any other course but for b.el.ed it is entrance based. if you get into this College, it will be a life changing experience. It is worth every penny you spend and all the four years you will be there.
The college has a small campus of 5 acres but it is a well equipped college with all necessary facilities required. The space is clean and hygienic. Also the college has beautiful lush lawns and gardens filled with plenty of greenery.
The academics is great , the faculty is well trained and adhere to our doubts. The academics can get a a little hectic from the 8:45 to 5:30 lectures but the hard work pays off. The curriculum is constantly checked and updated by the faculty .
We only have placements for the course of economics honours . The highest package offered up till date has been of 38 lakhs . The other courses don’t really offer placements up to my knowledge. The quality of placements is good !
The course of political science costs around 15000 annually and that is an economically efficient cost for me. It definitely is worth it with all the lectures and the seminars that are held on a daily basis.
The college is isolated from other colleges so maybe we miss out on a few fests that other colleges have. But on a general basis we have some event going on inside the campus. In a week on an average your own department holds around 4-5 seminars. The staff is supportive and understanding to a students grievances and are flexible to work with. The students are diverse in their ideas, perspectives and provide a very colourful crowd to interact . The campus is safe on a general basis.
The college is provides a great environment for growth. The academics requires effort and commitment with the hectic timetable and the strict attendance guidelines. However it is outside our comfort zones where we learn to flourish and grow.
LSR has all the facilities & equipments. Well constructed where physically disabled people can also move around easily. Classrooms have smart boards, however internet connection is not very good. Our library is pretty huge spread over 2-3 floors. We have beautiful & well maintained lawns, greenery beings in positivity. We have labs for computer, psychology & for some more. LSR has all the facilities for various sports.
BA sociology course is very interesting. Our course was updated last year with some new topics & books added. Our professors are very knowledgeable, experienced & approachable therefore the quality of education is excellent. We have regular discussions on various topics & relate them to our subject. LSR is one of the best institutions in India to pursue this subject.
I am a first year student therefore don’t know much about placements. However I have been told that placements & salaries offered are pretty good. In fact the best in DU! Students get into big companies like McKinsey, Deloitte.
Fees is very minimal since the college is under DU, directly under the central government. At the end of your graduation you would have spend only fifty thousand when compared to any private college for the same course. Studying in LSR makes it worth.
LSR has many many activities for all. Though it is compulsory to be a part of NSS, NSO or NCC- any one of them. You could be a part of dance society- classical or western - same for the music society, Public speaking society, drama society & many more. Societies of LSR are one of the best & most popular in DU.
LSR is THE place for those who want to be a part of best in everything - ranging from studies to extract curricular activities. Also students from across India come to study here, therefore you get exposure to various opinions, cultures. Here you learn to accept & respect diversity. We also have a few students from abroad studying here.
LSR has basic infrastructure like projectors, microphones, WiFi and TVs. Sanitary products are also provided but are not worth mentioning as they're mostly never restocked. LSR is known for being quite environmental friendly, hence no ACs in classrooms. The microphones from the Old Building are quite poorly maintained. The living spaces are clean, students lie around on the floors and grasses all the time and the food from the cafes are also hygienic.
I am currently studying Literature. LSR has a great faculty when it comes to English; the professors inspire me so much. I believe that we need literature for our daily lives. Literature prepares us and teaches us about necessary qualities like empathy and creativity which are needed not only in jobs but also in every day life so I think it does train us to be job-ready.
I am a part of the Placement Cell but I'm not very sure as to the percentage of students being placed. I think a lot of opportunities are provided to the Economics and B.Com students. English students do get placed sometimes but opportunities don't come very often for Creative Writing or Editing as much as opportunities for Marketing does. I don't know much about the salary as I've never applied or been placed.
My course costs Rs 16390 per year. I do feel I get my money's worth as most of the lectures and the discussions I've had with the English professors have been very eye opening and thought provoking. English professors can be your friends or your mothers, according to your needs. They do know A LOT of wise things too. I've learned a lot from this course.
LSR's college campus is quite nice for a South college. There are lots of greens and flowers, which I personally love. The front yard and the back yards are delights both during summers and winters. Old Building has really bad signals so cellphones don't play much of a role there. Transferring from Old Building to New can be tiring. Securities are genuinely strict in LSR as compared to many other colleges so I believe it's safe. The red walls do play their part in protecting the people inside.
In terms of infrastructure and facilities, I think basic sanitary products in case of emergencies should always be available in the college especially since it's an all girls college. Compulsory NSS or NCC options for first years can distract you a bit from academics and I'm not very fond of it. But I do love my course, personally, so I'm quite contented and happy with how college life is.
Yes the college has all the necessary facilities and equipments for different types of activities. The college has a library which which provides the students with all the necessary references and past year question banks. It also provides the students with WiFi within the college premises. The college also provides equipments and practice venues for those interested in sports and dance and also in the fields of art and music. The campus is swept everyday and the lawns are kept fresh and clean.
I am currently pursuing economic honours. My classmates and I are quite satisfied with our lectures. We've been taught in a more practical manner as compared to school level and we've found that what we've been taught has become more applicable to our daily lives and the events happening around us everyday.
The placement quality has been satisfactory and a lot of students get placements each year. Last year, a some seniors from the BSc Mathematics department got selected to join McKenzie. The placement processes have always been supportive for each of the students' growth.
The course costs around 15000 per year and is quite a reasonable amount.
I've become more active ever since I've attended college.I love the way college life has exposed me to participating in all kinds of activities and meeting all kinds of people.Every department has its own teams excluding societies, who handle the different events that each department is involved in.Campus life is quite peaceful with no additional pressures from seniors or teachers. However the location tend to be quite risky as there have been a few small cases over the years.
The college has a great infrastructure. There is free wifi, projectors in all the classrooms. Well equipped labs. The cafe is also very nice. Everything is great about infrastructure at LSR. There are separate tut rooms as well.
I studied Maths there. All the teachers are amazing. They are supportive too. The way of teaching is great. It is not like other colleges where teachers themselves dont wanna take classes. The curriculum is updated.
The quality of placements is also great. All the big companies like McKinsey, KPMG, EY, Towers Watson come for placements. Mostly the placements are from commerce and economics departments. But yes there are placements in other depts as well.
The cost is too minimal. At my time it was 18k per year. I do feel that I was getting money's worth. There is nothing to say about value for money. In today's time this fees is nothing as compared to the money charged by other institutes.
The campus life is also great. The college is situated in Kailash colony. It is close by to two metro stations. The campus also has a hostel, gymnasium, table tennis court, volleyball court etc. There are ample facilities.
LSR has one of the best infrastructures in whole DU. The campus has a two buildings surrounded by a lot of greenery. The greenery soothes the heart when we feel distressed. The classrooms are well equipped with projectors and boards that help in efficient learning and teaching.
The faculty members have the best knowledge to enlighten students. Teachers make the concepts clear from the scratch and then move on further to explain higher topics. Besides to boost the learning library is there which has ample of books for references
Since I am in first year, I don't know much about placements but LSR brings out the best job opportunities. On talking to seniors I found that college tries best to place all of its batch in a particular year.
You will never regret your decision if you become a part of this college
Best thing about lsr is its campus life
The college offers wifi facility in the old building. There is availability of lift as well as ramps to make LSR an inclusive space. The living spaces are well maintained and cleanliness and hygiencr are well taken care of.
The professors are well experienced and teach very well. They are always ready to help the students with any kind of help they need whether academic or otherwise. The college also offers a great scope to participate in extra curricular and offers so many socities and options to choose from.
The quality of placements has been pretty well. Ye highest package is of around 37-38 lakhs which is a great amount for an undergraduate which was bagged by a student from economics hons. It is true that competition is tough within the college itself but still placements are at a good average.
The college is a Central Government college and hence, the fee charged is very very nominal. The college also offers various scholarship programmes to help students coming from a family with income levels below a certain level.
Though the college doesn't like within the main DU campus , it offers great surroundings within itself. The college campus if full of flowers and greenery is very well maintained. The college also offers facility of Reference section /library to students.
If you’re a PCM student in 12th and want to pursue Psychology at Lady Shri Ram College (LSR) through CUET, you need to focus on the subjects accepted for BA (Hons) Psychology admission. LSR generally considers English (compulsory) and any two other domain subjects from CUET. Since you’re PCM, you can choose Maths, Physics, or Chemistry along with English. There isn’t a strict need for Biology in CUET for Psychology at LSR. So prepare well for English + 2 best PCM subjects, as your CUET score in these will decide your admission chances.
Yes, Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, offers admissions under the Sports Quota (ECA/Sports Supernumerary Seats). However, selection is not just based on certificates, you need to clear:
1. Sports Trials (practical performance test),
2. Submit Zonal/National-level certificates (recent years preferred),
3. Shortlisting depends on DU’s centralised sports quota merit list.
Competition is tough, but with good performance in trials and strong certificates, you have a fair chance.
While Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College, like most colleges in Delhi University, primarily uses English as the medium of instruction, it's possible to take your course in Hindi if you choose a Hindi language course or if your professor allows it. However, the primary language of instruction and course materials is generally English.
For most courses at LSR, the medium of instruction is English.
If you are pursuing a BA (Hons) in Hindi, then you will naturally be studying in Hindi.
Some professors may use both English and Hindi, especially in courses with a diverse student body, but course materials are usually provided in English.
You can generally write your exams in Hindi even if the course is taught in English, but it's advisable to check the specific guidelines for your course and college.
If you are interested in Hindi as a subject, you can choose Hindi as one of your subjects in the CUET exam and potentially pursue a BA (Hons) in Hindi at LSR.
Your admission will be based on your performance in the CUET exam and other eligibility criteria, and the medium of instruction in your previous classes (like 12th) is not a barrier for admission.
