The academic block of the college is good and provides a suitable learning environment. However, laboratory facilities need significant improvement with better equipment and infrastructure. And there is no facilities for sports and extra curricular activities.Hostel facilities are also inadequate, as there are no separate hostels for different years of students. Additionally, the hospital infrastructure requires modernization and improvement to enhance patient care and clinical training.
The overall academic experience is below expectations due to the largely monotonous and less interactive teaching methods, which often make classes unengaging . Frequent rescheduling of classes because of faculty shortages further disrupts the academic schedule and affects the learning experience.
As a medical college, there is no formal placement system. However, many students face difficulties in securing postgraduate seats in their desired specialties immediately after graduation. Strengthening academic support, mentorship, and PG entrance examination preparation could help improve career outcomes for students.
Considering the overall course fees and additional expenses on books and online learning platforms, the cost of pursuing education at this college is substantial. However, despite these expenses, the college provides a reasonably good educational experience, making it a satisfactory value-for-money option overall.
Considering everything, overall college and campus life is ok because there is not much extracurricular activities going on to suit different types of taste of students as well as the academics becomes monotonous and boring.
It has a Good infrastructure in terms of academic block but poor infrastructure in terms of hospital facilities, sports centre and laboratories. The hostel are also poor as there is less space for accommodation.
The quality of teaching is poor as teachers use a monotonous method of teaching and it's is less interactive. There are less number of faculties in a subject. There are less interactive sessions with faculties
Since it's a medical College, here there is no such thing called placement but the students getting pg degree at first attempt are less due to poor academic quality. Overall our future jobs depend on our academic.
As this is a government medical College in west bengal so the cost per year goes around 11k for semester fees excluding the fees for extra platforms like marrow and for books.
Over-all campus life is just good as we lack sports centre and other extracurricular activities and interactive activities which might help us stay fit and happy and sometimes it gets very monotonous.
Initially we didn't get any. Now it's on the verge of completion and we are seeing a dream of studying in the second largest medical college campus of WB. Since the campus will be fairly new no problem. But equipments for laboratory had been provided so that our academics isn't hampered.
I am Studying MBBS because I was fortunate enough to perform well in my entrance. Quality of teaching is Avg. Curriculum is updated but teachers are not that student friendly. They prefer to burden with books. But some are really Good. Like AKB.
100% placement guaranteed if u pass the 5yr strainous Course. Salary package is same for all and doesn't depend on what marks u have earned. Placement procedure is fairly simple. Pass and get placed. simple.
