    Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) is the study, design, development, and testing of electronic equipment utilised in a variety of systems. Electronics and communications engineers also design and supervise the production of communications and broadcast systems.

    Analogue transmission, fundamental electronics, microprocessors, solid-state devices, digital and analogue communication, analogue integrated circuits, microwave engineering, satellite communication, antennas, and wave progression are all covered in this field of engineering.

    • Seminars included in the curriculum helps them to experience self-learning and develop communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Various clubs operated at the department level train the students on various aspects related to the industrial requirements such as technical projects and opportunity to participate in competitions.
    • Research activity in the department encourages them for innovations and lifelong learning.
    • Workshops & conferences held at the department and institution level provides them with the relevant exposure.

    ·         Industrial training is a part of the curriculum where students have to work in an industry which is related to their area of interest for a minimum period of 4 weeks. Essentially, this gives them an exposure to the technology in practice and industrial environment.

    • Graduates can choose from industries like automation, software solutions, & consulting, to product development, aerospace, automotive electronics medical electronics, research, etc.
    • Graduates may pursue their Masters’ in varied fields but not limited to VLSI, MEMS, Nano Technology, Control Systems, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing and Communicatios.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Indian Boards

    Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional, from a recognized Board, with minimum 50% aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects * Technical vocational subject must be related to Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams 

    A Level:

    • Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as optional subject in the ‘A’ Levels and • English at ‘AS’ level OR Minimum 5 passes at IGCSE/ GCSE or GCE ‘O’ level examinations including English • Minimum grade required is an average of ‘D’ grade in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects * Technical vocational subject must be related to Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams

    IB $:

    • English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as optional subject (preferably Mathematics and Physics at HL level) 
    •  IB Diploma or IB Certificate with a minimum average of 4 points for Physics, Mathematics, and any optional subject* with an overall minimum of 24 points 
    • Minimum points required in a subject are 3 or above •
    • Minimum 3 subjects in HL and 3 subjects in SL 
    • Minimum TWO Science subjects in HL * Technical vocational subject must be related to Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams
