Manipal has one of the best Infrastructure in India. Moreover, the 313acres campus provides immense facilities. The campus has been since 1957 and has till date one of the best infrastructures. Manipal also has one of the best Sports Infrastructure as well places like Marena are hotspots for aspiring athletes and players.
Academics in this university is top-notch just some updates need to be done in the curriculum. Branches like IT, CCE has some irrelevant subjects which need to be updated with modern-day technology, and in the current world of modernization, it needs to be replaced by new subjects which are there as electives.
Their number says it all this year 35+ students got 44lpa from Microsoft not only that the fortune 500 companies see it as a hotspot for one of the brilliant minds of India. Companies like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley are among the top recruiters and the list doesn't end there for more info visit the website
The fees have rounded up to be a little high but the facilities, opportunities that college provides are immense.
Manipal can offer you one of the best campus life a student can wish for. First of all the location of the campus is one of the best in the country situated between valleys and beaches its MSP Student comes from all walk of life making it one of the most vibrant campuses of India
Dream College anyone can wish for!
Hostel rooms, laboratories, classrooms, gyms and even mess are fully air-conditioned. Libraries have all the basic sitting arrangements with computers for students to work there. 6 gb of daily internet access, water coolers for summers and warm water during winters. Hygienic, and fresh food in mess.
I am a tech enthusiast, a student of computer science and engineering. The quality of teaching style is outstanding. All the professors have good command over their fields. Yes, the curriculum gets updated every year according to the latest advantage and patterns.
Placements are really good, the average package is around 9 lac. 75% of CSE students are placed with a decent package every year. A lot of big companies including Microsoft, Amazon etc also visit the campus during the placement season.
Since it happens to be a private institution, fees is high. But, I feel paying this huge amount is worth paying because I am really doing good in academics and getting all the facilities required to move forward in life.
I feel campus is both hectic and fun, Students can enjoy a lot on campus, playing sports, chatting with friends, and whatnot. Students, teachers, and support staff here are very loving and caring.
manipal college is very clean and hygeinic .it contains very good infrastructure and good equipments for student education. The staff are very dedicated to their work. They are very supportive to the students in every aspects
I am studying information technology stream.Teachers are highly qulaified and provide the vast information to students. YES in few aspects there must be some developments . yeah ofcourse whatever it takes its helps to face the problems in job placements
placements are very good as of now.average salary of manipal college is around 7LPA.In 2021 35 students got placed in top companies like amazon ,google with a package of 44LPA.252 students got placed with an average salary of 20LPA.
The campus is about 300 accer and the mess food is really nice the hostel facility is also very good The staff is really very good and they help us a lot and the teaching is really good It's around 4lakh per annum looks like a bit high but worthy

Really good placements and the average packege is about 9 lakhsThe staff is really very good and they help us a lot and the teaching is really good The campus is about 300 accer and the mess food is really nice the hostel facility is also very good

Really good
Very good
Facilities here are excellent in terms of Wi-Fi (MIT, Manipal is soon going to be equipped with fibre optic Jio LANs and routers), air-conditioned classrooms, a huge central library, medical facilities (a student center at KMC, Manipal gives discounts/free checkups for Manipal University students) and good sports and gym equipment. I am acquainted with CS labs only, hence, the computer labs are great, and the Internet connection is good with updated software and good PCs.
In terms of education, the agenda, as well as the course curriculum, it is excellent. It allows a student to have plenty of time for co-curricular activities or for developing projects and research, etc. Teaching faculty members are experienced and helpful. Most of them are currently pursuing PhD in some field while a few of them have already pursued. Many professors also act as advisors for students assigning them tasks and helping them with publications or any other work.
The placements could be summed up as good. Companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, WDC (Sandisk) and Goldman Sachs did hire 6-10 students each with the average salary for information technology department rising up to 7 LPA (approximately). Among the other companies that visited our college, many of them offered PPOs and internship cum job offers too. Overall, the placement rate for my department was more than 99%, and companies looking for all types of students.
All types of hostels were available according to our choice. We had single attached washroom, air-conditioners or non-air-conditioners, double sharing, and single sharing. The food served in the mess was also good than other engineering colleges out there. Even we had a food court which served good food on a payable basis or daily meals as well and had air-conditioners. There was a vegetarian mess also for the one who preffered.
There were good studies as well as good teachers in IT. Our course had networking subjects as well as the other computer science courses included. Overall faculty members were good and knowledgeable. Regular assignment tests were held to know the industry standards.
Companies like Microsoft, Google, Direct, Philips, Citrix, SanDisk, mscripts, Future First, Deloitte, Amazon, Oracle, Cisco, Thoughtworks, EMC2, HP, L&T, TA Power, and Goldman Sachs visited our campus for recruitment. The highest salary package offered was of 40 LPA by Google, leading by Direct, Microsoft and Citrix. Almost 100% of placement was recorded.
Two major fests were organised on campus. One was cultural fest, and the other was tech fest. There were many clubs that students can join according to their interest which also hosts events on campus individually. Manipal attracts a very diverse crowd from NRI to all parts of the country on the campus. Overall personality development was amazing of the students inside the campus. Even the campus is very scenic in mid of Western ghats.
The infrastructure of our college is world-class. Our college provides a Wi-Fi facility with 60 GB per month. Our college provides the latest equipment in labs, and there are 2 lab assistants to help us. Food served in the food court, and it is placed near to the hostel blocks. There is a Kasturba Medical Hospital near the college which provides a free checkup for students and life insurance coverage. There is a library of 2 storied building.
Teachers in our college are well-qualified and helpful. Some teachers are struggling to teach us. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Teachers are PhD holders from different institutes like IITs, IIIT and NITS. Their minimum qualification is M.Tech, so there are no issues regarding teaching. They give extra care for students studies.
About 75% of the students from our course got placed. Our college provides placements in branches like computer science, IT, banking, sales industry and mechanical. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 7.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Maruti, Honda, Mercedes, TCS, Bell Textron, ZS, etc., visit our campus for placements.
The food served in the canteen is really good, and you don't feel like you are staying in the hostel and eating mess food. Hostels are really good, especially 14, 15, 16 and 17 blocks for boys. You will get hostel based on your CGPA from 2nd year onwards. For mess, I will recommend Annapoorna mess for 2nd-year students.
The teachers are as what you would expect from an engineering college. Some are really great, while some are really average. The bonus of learning is on the student, as is in any other engineering college, and you need to work hard. Can always approach a teacher for help if required.
Every student, especially from CS, IT and ECE branch gets placed with an average salary package of 3 LPA-5 LPA. Placements are not good for other branches. If you know coding, you can easily get a placement. I suggest you to try to learn coding from 2nd or 3rd year onwards if you want a good salary package.
The college has amazing infrastructure. Almost places are air conditioned with the exception of few labs for exhaust purposes. There are structures made in amazing architectural style, especially the student plaza which is a student hangout area. Campus is wifi-enabled, low speed. Food is decently good. A la carte facilities also available in messes. Hostel cleanliness is maintained, with presence of private baths. Sports facilities are average with the exception Marena which is world class.
The quality of teaching is decent. But college does provide free coursera certification which is amazing and also the .edu email ID which can access a lot of student benefits. The curriculum is updated every two years, but in terms of keeping in track with the latest trend, leaves much to desire. The student clubs here are beneficial for placement preparation as the student culture is very strong with people in top companies and universities giving recommendations.
The placements are decent with computer science branches usually having the highest averages. Not sure about other branches but people do prefer to go abroad and pursue masters. Computer science usually has around 100% placement with 10+ lpa ctc as median.
The college surely is costly, but it does provide enough benefits to compensate for it. The course cost per year is around 3-4 lakhs but does increase successive years. They provide a fee structure for 4 years before hand. Considering the population is lower than other private colleges, amazing infrastructure with decent academics and amazing alumni network, I do feel the college fulfills on the promises.
Manipal has one of the best campus lives possible in any Indian college. It has a strict no ragging culture plus the seniors also don't care about ragging since they are better than that. The campus green, on a hill with amazing views. The beaches are also quite close with a 10 mins bus ride. There are also hills around the area which makes a fun trekking place. Modern in many aspects with all major food chains available and malls. The downside are clubs being present which might be distractive.
Overall I would say if you do have the financial stability, this college is an amazing place as you meet people from all parts of India and abroad. It has a strong alumni network, above average hostel and mess compared to rest of Indian engineering colleges. The academic scenario is same all over India with students mostly relying on self-study to learn things, but you get ample resources and seniors support to learn in the college.
my college has most of the necessary infrastructure needed for all the basic facilities labs are well maintained and equipped. Adequate sports facilities are available and libraries are up to date, all campus wifi is also available.
I am studying computer science engineering in this college because this sector is flourishing currently and my college provides the necessary expertise that are required in the industry and our curriculum is up to those standards.
The on campus placements provided by our college gives the students ample opportunities to secure their first step into the industry. About 85% students get placed with the highest package of 18 lpa and average package of 5 lpa.
The course costs about 290000 per annum . I do feel that this course is value for money because the additional training and industrial internship program that the college provides helps students get on par with many better and higher demanding colleges.
My college campus is really big and well kept, where cleanliness and maintenance of the campus are the top priorities . Students are allowed encouraged ,and provided with many co curricular activities.
Lastly I'd like to say if you want good college life and a decent placement in your hands after having a 4 years full of learning and achievement come to manipal ,and live your desire.
Selecting an institution for Electronics and VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) studies requires careful consideration of several critical factors. It is not solely about surface-level statistics or broad placement claims; rather, the decision should be informed by tangible parameters such as curriculum quality, research opportunities, and industry connections.
To begin with, IIIT Hyderabad stands out as a premier destination for VLSI education. The institute offers a robust, VLSI-centric curriculum and well-equipped laboratories. Graduates frequently secure positions in core semiconductor companies—such as Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD—with median salaries for M.Tech VLSI programs often exceeding Rs15 lakhs per annum.
The Indian Institutes of Technology—specifically in Bombay, Delhi, and Madras—are also excellent choices. These institutions are renowned for their advanced VLSI research facilities and consistently strong placement records, particularly in research and development roles within the core electronics sector.
BITS Pilani should not be overlooked. It maintains strong industry partnerships and provides students with valuable internship experiences. Notable employers include Texas Instruments, Micron, and Nvidia, among others. The alumni network further enhances career prospects.
Among the National Institutes of Technology, Trichy, Warangal, and Surathkal offer impressive placement outcomes, though the number of semiconductor-specific opportunities is somewhat lower than at the IITs or IIIT Hyderabad. Nevertheless, these NITs provide a favorable return on investment and solid training in core electronics.
Private institutions such as VIT Vellore, SRM, and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are also options worth considering. While a larger proportion of recruiters may be from the IT or software sectors, opportunities in VLSI are steadily increasing, especially for proactive students.
Key parameters to assess include:
- Faculty expertise in VLSI and Embedded Systems
- Placement ratios in core versus IT companies
- Access to industry-standard CAD tools (such as Cadence and Synopsys)
- Industry tie-ups for internships and research projects
Before finalizing your choice, it is advisable to consult resources like Careers360’s Placement Reviews and College Predictor tools. These platforms provide detailed student feedback and salary trends, offering a more nuanced view than official statistics alone.
If you wish to receive college suggestions tailored to your entrance exam rank and category, please provide those details. This will allow for more personalized guidance in identifying the most suitable institutions for your goals.
