University of Petroleum and Energy Studies(UPES) is one of the premier institute for offering petroleum related courses. For computer Science branch also it is one of the good universities. At UPES nearly all the BTech courses in CSE are offered in collaboration with IBM & Xebia. Placements are average with an average of 3.5 LPA by companies like IBM,Infosys,etc. But still if you have any other option open for you first compare them then do some wise decision otherwise it is not a bad decision to pick CSE at UPES.

Hi.

1) Chitkara University Chandigarh provides BE degree in Computer Science. It also offers other BE & B.Tech degrees in different subjects. It is one of the top colleges in Punjab

Fees - Around INR 80,000 per semester

Pros : i) The placement opportunities are great. Almost 80% of the students get placed in companies like Amazon, TCS, Adobe, HCL, etc.

ii) The average salary is around INR 6 LPA & the highest salary can be up to INR 30 LPA depending on the recruiting company.

iii) Lots of Internship opportunities are provided to students for gaining a rich experience & proper exposure.

iv) Great infrastructure with spacious library, well-equipped labs, laundry facility, medical facility, decent food.

Cons : i) The faculty members are apparently not that experienced & all are not very approachable.

ii) The training given for placement interviews is not  up to the mark.

2) Shiv Nadar University provides B.tech degree in CSE  & also in other streams.

Fees - INR 11 Lakhs total for the entire course

Pros : 1) Average salary offered during placements is around INR 6-7 LPA.

2) Top recruiters like Goldman Sachs, Adobe, American Express, Futures First, IBM,  ZS Associates, etc., visit the campus for placements.

3)  The administration is very helpful & responsive.

4) Each student is provided with 2GB data / day, which does not include data spent on educational websites.

5) The infrastructure is also great with all kinds of facilities like dispensary, library, sports ground, canteen, etc.

Cons : i) The educators in CSE department are apparently not at all cooperative or open to new ideas.

ii) Reviews by past students states that they are not allowed to use the research labs & are not provided any kind of assistance in that matter.

3) UPES Dehradun offers B.tech degree in CSE for a total fees of INR 18 Lakhs for the entire course.

Pros :i) Around 70% students get placed. Companies like Dell, Adobe, Microsoft offers placement here.

ii) The highest package offered is around 10-15 LPA.

iii) The infrastructure is decent & the campus looks beautiful

iv) The teachers are very helpful.

Cons : i) The college is located in outskirts of Dehradun so transport can be an issue.

ii) The fees is a bit too high.

These are the few points that you should consider before choosing a college so go through all the points & choose wisely.

There are three ways of scholarship you can get from UPES for BTech CSE.

• The first one is Girl Child Scholarship. In this scheme, all female candidates taking admission in any course are provided 20% scholarship on the tuition fee for the 1st year.
• Scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 80% marks in class X and XII and 80% marks in PCM for Tech (All Streams) in Computer Science and Engineering. Such scholarships will be limited to 10% of seats in each B.Tech Program. Scholarships will be allotted for the first Semester in Merit order to eligible candidates. The scholarship amount is 50% of the total tuition fee of 1st year. From the second year the scholarship will depend on the performance in semesters (SGPA>8.0)

VIT Bhopal and UPES Dehradun both are very prestigious institutions and specially for use both institutions offer a great a curriculum and very interactive study environment.

Personally my verdict goes for VIT Bhopal, you should look at the fees structure, distance from your home town, placements.

Hello student yes you're eligible to apply for B.tech in UPES as eligibility criteria says - Candidates must passed or appearing class 12 in physics chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 50 percent marks from a recognized board.

Admission is based on either class 12 marks or marks obtained in jee main.

According to you, you got 11950 rank in CLAT 2021. There is a minimum chance to get admission to the School of Law UPES( University of Petroleum and Energy Studies), Dehradun, and NIRMA University, Ahmedabad. Because according to the previous year, the rank cutoff for School of Law UPES and  NIRMA University was 2000 to 5000. And your rank is quite high.

Yes, the fees in UPES is quite high and everybody admits that. But there are reasons to that and first of all is that it is an Private University so the fees is generally high in private colleges because they get no backing from state government. Coming to its infrastructure UPES is one of the best colleges in India in terms of infrastructure so to maintain that infrastructure college need to have money so they charge a little high money. The faculties are very experienced and highly qualified so that also requires a higher salary to them Moreover the placement in UPES is quite good because a lot of big companies like Microsoft, Commvault, Infosys, Schlumberger, Reliance, PCBL, IBM, Amazon, shell, L&T, LTI, IBM, HCL, Dell R&D, Wipro,Nestle, Maruti, Tata technologies, JIO etc come to offer placement. So, if you are hardworking student and if you can maintain good academic throughout your engineering degree then you can surely get a placement and your fees will be worth it.

If the login time is given as 10am to 2pm, then it means that your login window will be open from 10am to 2 pm. Within this time you will have to answer your UPES exam. After 2 pm the window will get closed and you won't be able to answer.
The online proctored exam duration is of 2 hours and you will have to answer 125 questions in this given time. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and no negative marking scheme for any wrong answer. Your exam will start from the time you login and last till 2 hours. After that your window won't accept any answers.
So prepare and answer well.

As per your query,I would like to inform you that Upes dehrdun will be a better option than chandigarh university due to its high nirf ranking,better placements,speclization in machine learning(which will benefit you if you are thinking for placements) and better qualtiy teaching . Try to make command on machine learning because they are various number opportuinites in this field you will easily high profile job if you have decent projects in your resume . Moroever, the average package of upes for bca students goes around 4.5lakhs
