Hi, UPES dehradun takes its separate entrance test for the admissions into ita various btech programmes. Apart from this, they have two more criteria for admission. One is jee mains marks(last year cut off was below 100) and 12 boards marks( last year approx 80–85%).

So you can get into UPES with the score you have obtained pretty easily. Check the official website of the college for all the admission related details.

All the best!

Hello Apoorva
UPES does take admission in the basis of scores of CLAT it doesn't matter whether you have given the exam or not if you have given CLAT you can apply for it. Because they have no of seats for students who get admission through CLAT. Once you have your score you can apply for it. Than they will send you a mail whether you qualify for GD and PI Or not.
I hope this helps you and if you have any more questions please drop a comment below.
Best of luck.

Hello Umang, UPES Offers 80% seats through UPES aptitude test, 10% through Board marks and the remaining 10% through JEE Mains marks. I don't think you will have a chance with 82 percentile because the cutoff is very low for the 10% seats. you would have a rank around 3000 which won't be enough to get you a seat.

Hello Amber!

Minimum Cutoff percentile to get admission in UPES Dehradun is 60 percentile. So from Jee Main mode you can get admission in the college.Besides that if in 12 your PCM marks are above 80% then you can also get admission in UPES.

Hope it answer your concerns.

With 67% you won't be eligible to admit at NIT's or IIT's as cannot participate in the JoSAA counseling.

If you are talking of UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy studies) then I would strongly recommend you to consider the other better options like

1. Participation in JAC. - this is the best possible option. As I've heard in this board percentage 65% is taken for eligibility. By this counseling you'll have to get a seat at DTU & NSIT which are equivalent of the Top NIT's of our college.

2. Prpare well for state engineering exams. Exams like WBJEE, UPSE offers pretty decent college. Some of these state colleges stood even a better NIRF ranking then most of NIT's of our country.

3. You can go for board improvement. This is also a vital suggestion because X11th marks holds improtance even your after graduation in exams like CAT or XAT. So improvement of board marks and preparing for JEE mains alongside can be done for a year. This will also enhance your chances of getting a better rank.

Hope it helps.

Hello Sir.

First of all, the campus is so small that accommodating each and every student in campus hostel is impossible. The campus hostel accommodates about 400 students, The rest all live in PGs, private hostels, flats/houses ranging from 0-20 km away from the university. This is one of the major drawbacks of UPES. You must be wondering why I'm saying it's a drawback. Well, I will clear it out in a few points but before telling you that, let me tell you I have studied in a boarding school, so, I know what are the benefits and fun of living in the same campus. So, why it's a drawback:

  1. There's a huge communication gap.
  2. Students know their seniors/juniors only if they are from the same hostel / PG or from the same society (drama, computer club, etc) or from mutual friends in most of the cases.
  3. There's no community life after 6 PM since everybody goes to their respective hostel / PG which is the most beautiful part of other colleges like IITs, NITs and many more.

Hii geetanjali

You have a very average score in your class 12th boards examinations and if you want to do bachelor's in management studies then you'll have to appear for the Delhi university joint entrance examination which is a 400 marks paper and with mere 70 percent best of four you would require nothing less than 280-300 marks to get a college which again is real difficult as far as Du-Jat is concerned. You can prepare hard for it . You can reach out to us for more information regarding admissions procedure important dates cutoffs etc.
Hope it helps
Thanks

Dear Aspirant,

sorry to say but as per eligibilty criteria for B.tech you should clear UPESAT with that you should also have 80% aggregate in 10&12.

so apply for another colleges.
