Surya School of Management Studies, Villupuram Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College Hostel, located within the college campus, consists of two blocks, one each for boys. It is a residential hostel for full-time graduate and postgraduate students admitted to the Surya group of the institution. All community areas like the dining room, common room, recreation room, washroom, etc., are provided separately for boys. The Hostel Committee, under the Chairmanship of the Dean, frames the rules and regulations of the Hostel from time to time and is the final authority in matters concerning the management of the hostels. The college is equipped with a fully functional mess to serve hygienically prepared food to the staff and students. It is run by the Management under the guidance of the Principal and Mess Manager. A separate wing for boys has been provided, which can accommodate a strength of 500 each. Vegetarian, as well as Non-vegetarian food, is served in the hostel. Mess charges are collected on an annual basis at the time of admission. Parents and guests are allowed to consume food without paying for them.

The college has a well-established fully Automated Library and Information Centre with a huge collection of 6,000 volumes and 1,050 titles, covering all major fields of Management studies with international standard resources. The modern library is located in MBA Block and covers an area of 450 Sq.m., the library and information center have separate reading and reference sections to service the Postgraduate students, staff members, and research scholars. Books are classified and arranged according to the Dewey decimal classification (DDC - 22nd Ed.) scheme. The library has an Institutional Membership with several external libraries such as The DELNET access providing the Staff, Students, and Research Scholars the benefits of resource sharing in the field of Management Studies. The Library Subscribed E-resources are available as per AICTE MANDATORY subscribing IEEE, ASME, ASCE, SPRINGER, ELSEVIER, Mc Grew Hill, EBSCO, J- GATE (Management Sciences), and ASTM Digital Library. All students of Management Studies are provided with four Business-specific newspapers namely Business Line, Business Standard, Economic Times, and Financial Express along with other Dailies and Magazines. The Library has a fully computerized automated system for the transaction of books and other reading materials. The online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is available in our Library.

The college has the following facilities - Outdoor Sports activities: Cricket, volleyball, basketball, athletes, Shuttle cork. Indoor Sports activities: Chess, Carom, Table Tennis.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college's Excellent transport facility is available from Villupuram, Pondicherry, Tindivinam, Marakanam, Kootroad, Cuddalore, Gingee, Vetavallam, Thirukovilur, Vadalur, Neyveli, Township, and Ulundurpet to our college during the working days.

The college has a Placement Cell, aimed at grooming and guiding Management Students to get placed in reputed Companies, which has been in operation right from the inception of the Institution.
