Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology, Narsapur Admission Process

The Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) is an autonomous institution, located at Narsapur in Andhra Pradesh. It has laid out well-defined admission procedures in consonance with the requirements and rules of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Several undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in engineering and technology disciplines have been offered by Swarnandhra to cater to the academic interests of many. Most likely, admissions begin around the month of May to June for August to September academic sessions. B.Tech admissions would be based mainly on the AP EAMCET scores while M.Tech and other postgraduate programs are based on AP PGECET and GATE scores.

Out of every hundred admitted to engineering colleges, 70 of those candidates get admission through EAMCET counseling, while the remaining 30 would get admission under the management quota. For most, minimum qualifications needed for undergraduate courses entail passing of 10 + 2 under a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects; for M.Tech admission, a candidate must complete a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline from some recognized university.

      Application Process

Application procedure differs with course for Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology: For B.tech programs:

      Qualify AP EAMCET examination.

      1. Register for AP EAMCET counseling as per cut-off eligibility.
      2. Select SCET by Preferred courses during counseling.
      3. If allotted, report to SCET for document verification and payment of fees.

      For M.Tech programs:

      1. Qualify the AP PGECET or GATE examination.
      2. Apply through the centralized admission process conducted by the AP State Council of Higher Education.
      3. If shortlisted, be part of the counseling process.
      4. If a seat is allotted, complete the admission formalities at SCET.

      For MBA and MCA programs:

      1. Qualify the AP ICET examination.
      2. Participate in the centralized counseling process.
      3. If seat allotment is done in favor of SCET, then admit to the institution.

      For Diploma program:

      1. Mark AP POLYCET.
      2. Join the counseling process as arranged by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh.
      3. If a seat is allotted at SCET, report to the college in completing the admission bar formalities.

Documents that are likely required for admission include but are not limited to:

      • Rank card of AP EAMCET/AP PGECET/AP ICET/AP POLYCET
      • Mark sheets and certificates for 10th and 12th class
      • Transfer certificate
      • Degree and marks certificates (for postgraduate programs)
      • Migration certificate (if applicable)
      • Caste certificate (if applicable)
      • Income certificate (if applicable)
      • Recent passport size photographs

      Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: SCET has a total of 13 B.Tech programs, with an intake of more than 1000 seats, and admission via AP EAMCET scores. The candidates must have passed 10+2 with the subjects Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry to be eligible. The Institute also provides lateral entry admissions into the second year of B.Tech programs, based on the AP ECET ranks.

M.Tech: The college offers admission in 7 specializations of M.Tech. The admissions are mainly based on AP PGECET scores and will also take into account GATE scores. The candidate must acquire a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in the relevant field. Admission will be done through counseling conducted by the AP State Council of Higher Education.

MBA: The MBA program will be run by SCET enrolling 120 students in it. The basis of admissions is along the lines of the score obtained in the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test, though other processes such as group discussions and personal interviews could also be brought in as a process of selection.

MCA: The college presents the MCA course with 240 seats. Apart from that, admission has been through the process of AP ICET, similar to the MBA program. A bachelor's degree holder in any discipline, with Mathematics either at 10+2 or graduation, is eligible.

Diploma: A number of engineering disciplines offer diploma programs on SCET. Admission into any of these programs is on the basis of the rank secured in AP POLYCET. Eligibility checks include passing class 10 or an equivalent examination.

      Reasonable Choice for Focused Students

      3.2

      Academics

The faculty members cover the syllabus and are helpful when students approach them with doubts. However, students who want to become industry-ready should focus on self-learning, certifications, and practical projects instead of depending only on classroom teaching.

      College Infra

The campus has the essential facilities required for engineering studies, including classrooms, labs, and a library. While the infrastructure is sufficient for daily academics, some facilities could be upgraded to provide a better learning experience. Overall, it is functional rather than exceptional

      Campus Life

Campus life is calm and suitable for students who prefer a disciplined academic atmosphere. Technical events and cultural activities are conducted occasionally, but the overall experience is moderate rather than highly vibrant. Friendships and participation in clubs can make the college life more enjoyable.

      Placements

The college provides placement training and invites companies for campus recruitment. Most opportunities are in service-based companies, so students aiming for higher packages or product-based roles need to prepare beyond the college curriculum. Placement outcomes depend heavily on individual effort

      Value For Money

The college offers an average return on investment. Students who actively participate in training programs, internships, and skill development can benefit from the available opportunities. Those expecting outstanding facilities or placements may find it average.

My Experience Had Both Learning and Challenges

      Kumar Posted on 30 Jun'26
      2.8

      Academics

The curriculum covered the core subjects, but I found that building industry-ready skills required considerable self-learning. I relied on online courses and personal projects to improve my technical knowledge.

      College Infra

The campus provides the basic facilities required for engineering studies. While the classrooms and laboratories were sufficient for regular academics, I felt some practical facilities could be modernized to provide better hands-on learning.

      Campus Life

The campus environment was peaceful and suitable for academics. However, I would have liked to see more technical events, industry experts visiting the campus, and student activities that encourage practical learning.

      Placements

From my personal experience, the placement opportunities did not fully match my expectations. Although the college has a placement cell and reports campus recruitment activities, I felt students needed to depend significantly on their own preparation and off-campus opportunities to improve their career prospects.

      Value For Money

For me, the overall value depended largely on the effort I invested outside the classroom. I believe additional industry interaction, internships, and career guidance would make the learning experience more rewarding.

      Discovering Opportunities Beyond the Syllabus

      Academics

As an AML (AI & Machine Learning) student graduating in 2026, I found that the department focuses on introducing students to modern computing concepts. The coursework covers important topics, but students who explore additional learning resources can gain a much deeper understanding of the field.

      College Infra

The campus provides a simple and organized environment for students. Computer labs, classrooms, and academic facilities are adequate for daily learning activities. The infrastructure supports academic requirements without being overly crowded.

      Campus Life

Campus life is shaped largely by student participation. Technical workshops, department activities, and peer interactions create opportunities to learn beyond academics. The atmosphere is comfortable and allows students to focus on both personal and professional growth.

      Placements

Placement opportunities are available, but they are not the strongest aspect of the college. Students interested in specialized AI and Machine Learning roles often need to build projects, complete certifications, and prepare independently to access better career opportunities. Greater industry exposure would benefit future students.

      Value For Money

The college offers a reasonable platform for students who are willing to take initiative in their learning journey. Those who actively participate in training programs and develop practical skills can make effective use of the available opportunities.
