The building of UBS is a remarkable symbol of the long and successful legacy of Panjab University. Standing tall within the lush green campus, it is popularly known as Arts Block 3 and Arts Block 6. The structure reflects history and tradition, representing years of academic excellence. However, despite its strong legacy, the building now requires significant repairs and modernization. In today’s competitive academic environment, legacy alone is not enough. It is essential to upgrade infrastructure to meet the standards expected of a reputed B-school. Basic amenities such as clean washrooms, well-developed classrooms, and access to safe drinking water are fundamental requirements. Unfortunately, UBS currently falls short in these areas. It is the need of the hour to revamp the infrastructure and align it with contemporary educational standards to maintain its reputation and continue attracting quality students.
The syllabus is often described as being at par with the IIMs, but in reality, it has become outdated. The curriculum places excessive emphasis on rote learning, with minimal focus on practical exposure, industry interaction, or experiential learning, elements that are essential for any modern B-school. There are a few professors who genuinely attempt to bring change. They go beyond their responsibilities to create a meaningful learning environment. However, instead of being encouraged, such efforts are often discouraged. Anyone trying to challenge the existing system risks facing unnecessary difficulties. An institution that proudly speaks of its long legacy once had professors who were deeply committed to their students and played a transformative role in shaping careers and lives. Many of them have either retired or moved on. Today, much of the academic responsibility rests on Junior Research Fellows. While they sincerely put in effort and dedicate time to learning and teaching, relying heavily on them reflects poorly on the structure expected from a reputed B-school. What has increased in recent years is not placements or academic excellence, but internal politics within the department. Instead of fostering collaboration and growth, the environment often feels divided. In such a scenario, merit sometimes seems secondary to affiliations, which is deeply concerning for an academic institution
Placements here are 1000% guaranteed provided you are someone’s someone or happen to be on the favourites list of a key faculty member. Officially, it’s all about hard work and luck. Unofficially, connections seem to deliver results a little faster than both. Some faculty members clearly have the power to open doors, shape careers, and help students fulfil their dreams and meet their parents’ expectations. Unfortunately, that power often appears reserved for a chosen few. The rest of the batch survives on self-effort, optimism, and perhaps a little divine intervention. It’s not that others don’t seek guidance, it’s just that approaching the “wrong” person or not belonging to the “right” circle can earn you cold shoulders or silent grudges. So while brochures proudly advertise equal opportunity, the lived experience sometimes feels more like selective opportunity. Of course, there are exceptions a few who manage to bypass this maze through sheer resilience or extraordinary effort. But when survival feels like strategy and access feels like privilege, one can’t help but question the system.
The only thing If there’s one thing that truly deserves a consistent five-star rating over the past few years, it’s the value for money or rather, the return on investment. That has been the most reliable and consistent feature of the institute. After all, where else can you get an MBA for less than 3.5 lakh rupees? In terms of affordability, it’s almost unbeatable. Whatever may fluctuate infrastructure, academic experience, internal dynamics the fee structure remains refreshingly stable. At least one promise stands firm: the MBA comes at a price that doesn’t require a lifetime EMI.
Life at UBS is genuinely good. You meet people who start off as classmates and somehow end up becoming an integral part of your life. The friendships, late-night discussions, shared stress before exams, and collective celebration after small wins; those moments stay with you. The campus, with its lush greenery, offers a peaceful escape from the usual chaos. Being situated in the heart of beautiful Chandigarh adds its own charm; clean roads, organized sectors, and a balanced city life. And with Himachal Pradesh just a few hours away, spontaneous trips to the hills become part of the MBA experience. For all its flaws and strengths, the place does manage to give you memories that often turn out to be the best two years of your life.

Teachers in our college are highly qualified but the course curriculum is not updated. It's not up to the mark. In UBS you have to do hard work, teachers are not going to tell you what you should do, they don't take initiatives here, it's the student who has to take their call. This is one of the weaknesses of UBS. Though teachers are very knowledgeable they usually are occupied with their work. This course doesn't make the students industry-ready. They hardly do any case studies in college which should be a major part of any MBA college. So this is a major drawback of PU
Around 90% students got placed this year and one of the main reason for this decrease is recession and this pandemic otherwise last year 100% students got placed from this college. The highest package was offered by tolaram group I.e. 55 Lacs p. a. and the lowest is probably 6.5 Lacs p. a. by Wipro. And average is around 9 Lacs. Here Top recruiting companies are American express, Tolaram group, Trident. BI general, HDFC, Bacardi, Infosys. Finxera, Wipro, E8Y. Top roles offered here is for marketing majorly. Rarely any Finance roles are offered. Though this year E&Y had offered finance role to two students of our college. Hope this review helps.

I am pursuing my masters from Panjab university under the department named as University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh . And i am Pursuing my masters from University Business School Panjab University Chandigarh because in future i want toh pursue PHd thats why i am here for doing my masters. While I have a vast amount of information on a wide range of topics up to that point, I may not be up-to-date with developments in various fields that have occurred after that date.
Yes Placement cell is well doing. My department has the placement cell for MBA students who have cleared their CAT exM an pursuing masters . They get placed in a very well known companies. The quality of placements can vary widely between colleges and is influenced by factors like the college's reputation, the specific program, and the job market. It's essential to research individual colleges and their placement statistics for accurate information.
Per semester fee of my course is approximately 45000. But i think it should not be too much because in comparison with MBA students they are getting placements by pying a very less amount of fees.

Average
UBS has all the infrastructure facilities which a decent MBA college must have. Infact it is graded A++ BY NAAC in the year 2023. Although Smart boards are not there in every class rooms but they can shift your classes in smart boards room as per the requirement. You will not get the highest quality of class rooms, but it is quiet ok up to the government colleges norms. WIFI speed is 2.5 MBPS throughout the campus . Food is hygienic and very affordable.
Quality of teaching is very bad in UBS. If you are really an intelligent and dedicated student who wants their teacher to be perfect in all aspects, then you may get disappointed here. 70% teachers who will teach you in UBS are JRF OR SRF. And believe me they stand no where in front of IIM professors. Even professors of UBS are not that good in teaching styles. Curriculum is not that excellent as you should feel a top Mba college must have
Placement is always a hot topic in this college. Infact you are getting an average placement of 13 lakh just by spending 1 lakh fees. If you can compromise on quality of teachers and curriculum but you want good ROI with good exposure of a tricity then you can go for it.
