Academics
The academics are good. You can pass the semester by just reading the pyqs. There is absolute marking system.
The curriculum is not updated they teach you C C++ and all things which are taught in every college of india. But there is 55% attendance criteria, So think this is the big relief for a student.
College Infra
This college come under Panjab University. PU has two campuses and UIET came under south campus. The infra of UIET is just okay okay. This is the decent college if you are not getting any nit or GFTI. You can choose this college instead of taking admission in any state engineering colleges.
The infra of the college is average, there is projectors in classrooms, the faculty is top notch from iits and other big institutes.
The spaes are clean and there is hygienic food. I you want to enjoy the campus life this will be best option.
Campus Life
if you want to live a campus life this is best college. Here are students from different departments which gives you an experience to interact with different peoples and the campus is very beautiful.
Placements
The placement for the tech branches are decent of 8-9 LPA for branches ECE there is also decent packages also if you are in mechanical and good skills you can grab placement with good numbers. This college won't provide internship you have to make connectons. And to grab packages you need to make effort.
Value For Money
This college is value for money this college is good for the money you pay. Th location of college is decent and you have so much oppurtunities to do wanna follow passion anything. This college is value for money.

Academics
The courses are 20 years old with no update based on how the technology has transformed over the years. The way of teaching is very old and it feels obsolete as students learn more from youtube videos than in college.
College Infra
It left much to be desired as machines were old. The machines were around twenty years older when I was studying, many weren't even working. It troubled us a lot as many of us weren't able to do our experiments.
Campus Life
It was pretty good with an amazing campus life.
Placements
Only Computer Science streams receive any placement. The IT stream receives good placements as well, but Electronics and communication, the placement is just average and as for other streams, it's downright rubbish.
Value For Money
The money is quite good.

BE Biotechnology - Batch of 2025-01-01
Academics
In the biotech department, only few of the faculty members are exceptionally good. And they will certainly push you and develop your research skills. But it is true only for the select few of the faculty members.
College Infra
Infra of our college is okaish. Everything one may need is present in the college or univerisity campus. Lecture halls are good only for the CS and IT department. All the facilities are present in the university campus in sector 14, but hostels aren't that great and availability of hostels is a major issue for boys. More than half of the students have to live outside of the campus in pgs and apartments.
Campus Life
the college is conveniently located in the city of chandigarh, making it easily accessible. The University campus where the hostels and central library are located, there environment is lively, providing students with various activities and competitions both national and international level.
Overall campus life is engaging and enjoyable.
Placements
Compared to other state govt and private colleges, placements are better, but not good though.
In CS/IT more than 70 percent students get placed, in ECE around 50 percent. In biotech only 5-6 students get placed. But most of the students in biotech department go to peruse higher studies, so there is less competition for placements.
Median is 6-8 lpa and average is around 9 lpa. Highest 18lpa by American Express to 7 students.
Value For Money
Fee structure changes with 5% hike per year. As of now it is 1.10 Lakhs/year.
Hostels are 6k per semester and 46 rupee per meal for mess.

At UIET Chandigarh, in round 1 the closing rank for CSE branch in obc category is 44673. So you are likely to get admission in CSE branch.
As for IT, the closing ranks were upto 77739 and you are well inside this bracket. So you are a top contender for

If my EWS category rank is 54878 can I get UIET chandigarh cse branch if yes then okay if not then which is the best college I can get at this for cse branch??

If your rank is 54878 in EWS category in UIET Chandigarh is unlikely because In 2024 the closing rank for EWS category was 51049 something
However other engineering colleges and branches might be available in your rank
You might have better chance of getting other engineering branches in UIET
