Hello Jishant Shah.

As per 2018 cutoff , you stand a fare chance of getting mechanical engineering in BITS goa campus.

I think you should go for Bits goa because over there you will have a better overall college experience and good educational environment.

Also Bits is known for its ample of opportunities in various domains of engineering life.

I think you should go for it.

Good Luck.

Dear candidate........,

Well, securing 61 percentile in Jee Mains may not be enough for getting admission into VJTI especially in computer science or information technology engineering. But since you're a SC candidate and resident of Mumbai, you have higher chances of getting admission. But you can also apply for other deemed universities and private colleges in Mumbai in computer science engineering.

Hope this helps you out.......

Best of luck:)

Hi Prajval,

I can provide you the cutoff ranks of VJTI Mumbai of previous years and then I am going to tell you the percentile that you need to score to be on the SAFE side to get a seat for Mechanical in VJTI Mumbai.

I am assuming you are from the GENERAL/OPEN category.

In 2016, after the last round-

Cutoff Rank- 616

In 2017, after the last round-

Cutoff Rank- 617

In 2018, after the last round-

Cutoff Rank- 1046

To be on the safer side, you need a rank around 800 to get Mechanical in VJTI Mumbai if you are from the GENERAL/OPEN category.

Therefore, you need a percentile of 99.5% in MHT CET which is high but required to get Mechanical.

Hope this helps you.

All the best!!!

I hope it will help you

GOOD LUCK...

Hello

No.

In VJTI, there is actually no difference between IT and Computers. Both the courses have almost same curriculum atleast till sixth semester. Only one or two subjects are different in the first three years. In the final year though, the two branches have a few different subjects.

As far as placement is concerned, all companies have the same eligibility criteria for both the branches. There is no difference on paper and even actually except the mass recruiter Samsung.

They will conduct the same test for both branches and will some how select almost all applicants from computer for the next round and hardly a few from IT. No one can justify the selection.

I hope it will help you
Good luck...

I would like to inform you that VJTI doesn't take JEE mains score for admission but only MHTCET. With 96.86 percentile your rank should be around 15560 and with that rank it is highly unlikely for you to get any branch in VJTI. The only branch you might be able to get over there is textile technology as the number of candidates applying changes every year.

I suggest you try for other colleges as your JEE main OBC rank is good. Best of luck

Clean and Green College

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The classrooms are decent enough, with wooden benches, projector and AC's. Wi-Fi works in some classes and doesn't in others. The library is too good. It has all the books that you will ever need. It even has good Wi-Fi. You can be in the library for a whole day without feeling bored. The mess has okayish food—not that great. The canteen has better food than the mess. There's a cricket ground, a football ground and a basketball court as well, which is really good.

Academics are Good

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

College has a very good infrastructure, however, the infrastructure is now old and there are efforts being put to renovate the college. Labs are a bit outdated, but the college is bringing in new facilities. The hostels are also undergoing changes and the new PG hostel has super good facilities.
