VIT Vellore - Information technology - 12000 (2016) - 17000 (2017)
VIT Chennai - Computer Science and Engineering - 14000 (2016) - 33000 (2017)

I am sorry to tell you that for your rank it is practically difficult to get a seat at VIT.So it better to look for alternative options available.If you have written SRMJEE/MET/JEE Mains and if you have a better rank there then you may apply through that.You may also write various state level entrance exams and secure a seat at top ranking institutes.

The courses offered by VIT Chennai are Computer Science and Engineering,Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fashion Technology, Civil engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering.
In order to get a seat in VIT,one must get a good rank under the merit list.
So the estimated closing ranks of VIT Chennai are :
CSE - around 11000
CE- around 30000
ECE- around 28000
EEE- between 28000 to 39000
Fashion Technology- 50000
Electronics and Computer Engineering - 40000
Not only VIT Chennai,there are other VIT s which offer IT like VIT Vellore where the closing rank is around 10000 for IT.You can find out more information regarding colleges in careers360.com

It is not possible to get category1 seat with 29k rank in Vit chennai.
Above rank of 20,000 really diminishes your chances of getting ECE/EEE at VIT Chennai in category 1.
But you may get them in category 2 or 3.

At this rank you may get computer science at chennai campus but you can't get vellore campus. choice vellore campus because vellore is main campus of it.

See the rank u have scored is enough for u to bag a seat both the campusses for pursuing ur higher studies in the field of ur interest under btech courses. For the Vellore campus u will be getting core branches and in the Chennai campus u will be getting CSE. U can also take the admission through the management quota.

I am sorry to tell you that getting into VIT Chennai is difficult based on your rank.So you may look for other alternative options.There are several private universities and state level exams.You may apply for it.In case if you have written SRMJEE,MET,JEE Mains or similar exam and if you have a better rank there you may go for these universities since they have a good standard.

Hello nivethaa, the criteria for SASTRA University is as follows-
Through stream 1:
Admissions to 70% of the seats will be made through stream 1 on the basis of JEE Main scores and normalized scores of the 10+2 or equivalent exam.
The 25% weightage will be given to JEE Main scores and the remaining 75% will be given to marks scored in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
The combined scores will be used to prepare the rank list and candidates will be invited for admission on the basis of the rank list.
Through stream 2:
The remaining 30% of the seats will be filled through stream 2
Only 10+2 (or equivalent) normalized scores will be considered while preparing the rank list of stream 2.
You have an good 10+2 score which will definitely help you in your admission and you have a good chance of getting into SASTRA University.

VIT C Infrastructure offers a solid foundation with modern facilities and a well-maintained campus. The labs, classrooms, and common areas are well-equipped, supporting both academics and innovation. A good environment for learning and development.

Our college has pretty solid infrastructure. The classrooms are spacious and have projectors. Labs are well equipped with the latest tools, especially in the computer and electronics departments. The library is really good has a wide range of books and enough space to study quietly. Wi-Fi is available across the campus and it's reliable most of the time. Sports facilities are decent with a basketball court, football ground, and indoor games area. The hostels are clean, and maintenance staff are usually quick to respond. The mess food is okay, not great, but hygienic. Overall, it’s a comfortable place to study and live.
Giving the review was quite a good experience.
