What is dual degree system in BITS? How it works in favour of the students? Does it put extra burden on the students?

Dual Degree

One of the most popular flexibilities provided in the BITS, Pilani's educational structure
Under this scheme, it is possible for a student to work for and complete two Degrees within a reasonable period of time.
All the admitted students are given an opportunity to take up a Dual Degree based on their performance in the first year of the programme.

Example:

A Student who has been allotted Chemical Engineering or any other discipline can choose to take Computer Science or any other discipline as his/her Dual Degree, if he/she maintains the prescribed criteria(CGPA of 7 or more) in the first year.

In such a case, he/she will take a minimum of one additional year and pay an additional Admission/Tuition fee to complete both the degree programmes and receive the Degree in respective disciplines.

Advantages

You can cover two degrees by the time you graduate.
Wide career range !!

Disadvantages

You should get good CGPA in first year, else you may not get CSE.
You need to study one more year.

Placements

You will be appearing in placements , along with your junior BE batch.

The burden is upto you,if you are able to manage your time and cope up with the college you will definately succeed else it might look up as a burden to you.

what branches can be expected in bits pilani and hyderabad for marks 291 in bitsat 2018?

Greetings!

The BITS Pilani will release the BITSAT 2018 cutoff in online mode for all candidates after the declaration of result. The BITSAT cutoff 2018 will consist of the minimum scores that the candidates will have to secure to be eligible for admission into the all three campuses - Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. The Cutoff of BITSAT 2018 works as a screening process for admissions into the various B.Tech courses of BITS Pilani and its associated campuses. Various factors such as difficulty level of the exam, previous year cut off trends and more are taken into consideration by the concerned authorities while preparing the BITSAT 2018 cutoff. The candidates will have to note that the cutoff of BITSAT 2018 will be different according to the B.Tech programme and campus selected by the candidate. The minimum score has to be secured in BITSAT for the candidates to be allotted seats. The candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling session according to the BITSAT 2018 cutoff. MY SCORE IN bits IS 285 WHAT ARE MY CHANCES IN BITS THIS YEAR?

Since your scored marks in BITSAT are good but not enough to take admission at Pilani campus. But yaah you have chances to get Civil at Goa campus and Manufacturing / Civil / Chemical Department at Hyderabad campus because the cuttoff for these branches will lie near 270 - 280 marks eventhough you may get somewhat higher branches that depends on the current condition. So hope for the best.

I get 246 in bitsat this year can i get admission in any of bits college

Seeing the admission procedure of bitsat and it's cutoffs of past years, you'll not get admission in top branches like CS, electrical and electronics,civil etc because the lowest cutoff is around 294 that to of civil branch at pilani campus.however you'll get the admission in msc courses example msc in biological sciences, b.pharm courses.the cutoff of these being around 221-237.
Talking about goa and Hyderabad campus,it's same.you are qualified for the msc and b.pharm courses but not the btech course.
Competition being very one needs to score more than 380 to get CS branch-one of the important branches of BITS.
Apart from computer science branch,one needs to score at least above 295 to get in other branches.

I got 271 marks in bits 2018. Which branch will I get?

Since your marks in BITSAT are good but not upto the upto the mark through which you can easily land to a zone of good branch. Every year the cuttoff in BITS are very high reaching at a limit of 300+. So i think it may be somewhat difficult for you to take admission in BITS premises but you should try in it may be by luck you get good branch at any campus.

Fees for BITS is about 5 lacs per annum. Is it worth taking admission? It is about 5 times the normal engineering college.

If you any doubt about bits worth please visit campus first . It will convince you to some way . And comparing to all engineering bits have unique curriculum and time table . You can experience a awesome engineering life in bits .

Sir I got 9700 inJEE mains. Which college may be preferable for CSE, either in NIT,IIIT or BITS Meshes, Sastra university.I am from AP

Since you have a good rank in JEE so i think you should go with NIT'S rather than IIIT'S except IIIT Hyderabad , if you got that then it will be a better option in comparison with NIT'S . If you are unable to take over the desired seat in NIT'S then you should may switch over to BITS Mesra because it also has a good rank across the country. Coming to the point point of Sastra University i don't think so you should opt that college because you have various other good option available.

I got 230 marks in bits, is there a possibility to get any campus of bits

Since you scored good enough but through this marks you can't be able to take admission in any of the campus of BITS because for each and every particular branches in BITS the cuttoff are high which is having a range of 300+ because of that you can't be able to take admission in that. So better try for the other good colleges which are coming under your domain.

I got 94 percent in 12 class board and 285 marks in bits so can I get a good stream and college in bits?

Since you have a good percentage in 12th board....Cheers !!!. From your marks point of view in BITSAT it may be somewhat difficult for you to take admission in BITS because for each and every single branches in BITS the cuttoff are high which has the range of 300. So may be you get it or not it will be hard to say but you should try might be you get.

college infrastructure of Birla institute of technology is vey good as you can see the name Birla as per my experience they are maintain their brand as well as it possible to support their brand they have high smart classes and high smart security to much expensive but very good college .

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the MBA students at BITS Pilani is well-organized and up-to-date. Classrooms are spacious, with projectors and audio-visual systems installed, enhancing lectures. The campus Wi-Fi is satisfactory, though speed reduces slightly in times of high usage. Seminar halls, case study rooms, and group discussion rooms are available for management students.

Overall my experience so far has been nice.

Nice infrastructure, AC class rooms, clean washrooms, well-maintained campus, pretty flowers everywher, pretty pretty snake path and last but not the least, how can I forget our iconic clock tower haha!!
