Dear Student,

In BIT Mesra, even teachers says, “it's better to paas with grade 'c' than getting backlog in subject”. They say clear a backlog in one attempt is a myth.

You can see the difference between the level of teacher's teaching and the question paper level of end semester. Sometimes, examination department misprint the result and even if you have cleared the subject and you are confident of that subject, you will get backlog and it's a very tough job to convince the department that yes, you have committed a mistake in printing my result.

It is said here that question paper of backlog are more tough than that of the end semester papers and there is no mercy shown while checking the answer sheets of backlog paper.

So, at last All the very best my friend..!

Hello student,

The Campus Recruitment Programme of BIT, over the years, has been nurturing value added relationships with recruiters across a wide spectrum of industries. Every year new milestones are conquered and new standards are established which speak for the ever-growing strength of the BIT student community as well as the diverse academic programmes offered.
During the year 2018-19, the Campus Recruitment Programme maintained its strong position with visits from 141 recruiters across all campuses and by achieving an overall target of 859 job offers.
The Mesra campus boasts of an average package of INR 10.4 lakhs per annum and the highest national salary of 40.63 lakhs per annum for BE Progame.
You may further check the placements records of previous year at the official website of mesra itself.

Hello,

Placements provided in the college are good, but it all depends on how you perform in your exams and interview. Most of the students got placed in good companies with good salary packages. Last year, the highest package offered was around Rs. 13,00,000 per annum. The average salary offered was in between 6 LPA to 7 LPA. The placement cell organises different programs for the development of soft skills in students.

Now comes the scope of EEE. As nowadays everything works on electronic equipments. The scope of EEE is huge. Electrical & Electronics engineers can work in wide range of fields such as power generation, electronics, computers & control systems, telecommunication and Bio-Medical.

Hello Medha,

The MCA( Master of Computer Applications) is a 3 year full time course at Kalinga University. You can check this article for further details.

https://www.careers360.com/university/kalinga-university-raipur/mca-course

Basically Kalinga University is providing admissions in MCA based on score in KALSEE which is there entrance exam. Depending on the score, seats will be alloted to the respective students accordingly. But the loophole is that if there are some vacant seats left after the seat allotment procedure, then aspiring candidates are alloted these seats without any entrance examination.

I hope it helped you..

Dear Student,

There are always many sides to look at an answer before reaching to a conclusion.

Bad:

  • Poor Infrastructure: You don't get the quality of infrastructure the main campus students will get and for your own good, you need to sink in this fact as soon as you enter the college.
  • Small Batch Size: Now i will use this point in the good points aswell but if you are looking for a campus crowded with people and you want to have that one in a million feel which big private universities have in offer, this is not the place for you, simply because of lesser courses offered here(In B.E. here at Jaipur they have CS,ECE and EEE branches only).
  • No hostel facility: This is a dissapointment for many students who come to study here with the dreams of Good Hostel Life, though BIT provides a list of PG/Flats available near the campus.
Good:

  • Reputation: You get a degree of BIT, Mesra and no where in your degree would be mentioned that you are a Off-Campus student. There is no need to brag about BITs reputation in recruiters but to highlight a few
  • Vast alumni base of the institution as it is among the oldest private engineering colleges in India.(Established 1955)
  • Globally, BITian's head more than 120 companies.
  • Recently a BITian won Oscar for Animation in Zootopia.
  • Has been in among the top private colleges since it's inception.
  • Placements: This a major deciding factor among aspiring students as to what kind of placements they are most likely to get after engineering from a college. You have this option to go to the main campus for placements where you compete head to head with the main campus students without any difference on the basis of campus. Also, here i would say the small batch strength helps a lot. In universities that have thousands of students who get placed in a mass recruiter for a fixed compensation and you need to be extra-ordinary to bag that dream package, here due to smaller batch size, the probability to bag a dream job increases. Just simple Math. Now, coming to the facts there have been students bagging multiple offers and companies like Samsung R&D, SAP Labs, Amdocs and Verizon have recruited engineers this year with compensations more than those of the mass recruiters, many startups have also offered delicious compensations. In the recent years Coding Culture has also increased courtesy to an active coding club fuctioning in the college, students go to competitions like the ACM-ICPC or GSOC. Also, core companies visit the campus every year to hire students unlike this trend of Mass Recruiters absorbing students from all streams and someone say from Electrical has to settle with an IT job offer.
  • Future prospects after engineering: One should understand that placements are a part and not the sole criteria to select a college. Only this year 4 students have scored 98+ percentile score in CAT and are waiting for the results of GD/PI. In recent years, students were selected for MS program in big universities like Cornell, University of California San Diego, University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign to name some. This year a senior got AIR 108 in GATE (EEE).
  • Highly Qualified Teachers: Teachers are paid as per the sixth-pay commission of the GOI. Clearly they only take those with high academic qualifications and not just hire some engineering college graduate to teach. Also it finally depends on you that upto what extent are you able to extract from the teacher.
  • Student-Friendly TimeTable: Unlike other colleges who have classes from 8 to 6 six days a week, BIT has classes from 8:50 to 3:30, 4:20 max and 5 days a week, Saturday and Sunday off having said that there is no extra class. It's better to have all the classes together than to have gaps of 1 or 2 hours in between which unnecessarily makes you feel tired. There are students who work on the weekends to cover their expense or learn a new skill.
  • Location: BIT Mesras Jaipur Extension Centre is in Malviya Nagar, which is a posh area in Jaipur with a lot of Industries aswell for internship opportunities. It is in the main city unlike other colleges that far away from the city so connectivity, social spots are never far away from you. Infact World Trade Park, the biggest mall of Jaipur is just 2 KMS away from the campus.

Conclusion: In the end BIT leaves you on your own to achieve what you want to just like a college should do to a gonnabe graduate. I have loved this freedom as i think i can make good use of it. This is the very essence of graduation, one has to stop being spoon feeded and take the best out of him/her.

Hope this answer is able to quench your curiosity.
Best Wishes!

College Infrastructure

Birla institute of technology , mesra , boasts one of the most spacious and beautiful campuses in India , spread over 780 acres of greenry. The college infrastructure is well developed and caters to both academic and extra curricular activities. Classrooms are clean, well equiped and are aided with good modern facilities like projectors and smart boards. The library is massive and house thousands of books and digital resources from students of all streams. The institute has also great sports infrastructure that includes cricket, football and almost all indoor games including badminton , table tennis ,etc. The environment is peaceful and inspiring helping students to focus on their academics as well as personal growth. Hostel food and occasional maintanance is the only negative part that is dominant. Giving a review to my college is quite good experience

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure here is quite impressive. The classrooms are well-equipped, and while the labs have the basic tools you need. You'll find air-conditioned classrooms. The hostels are generally considered spacious and well-maintained, with daily cleaning, and each has its own dining hall. They also have night canteens, which is convenient. The college has a good library, fast Wi-Fi all over the campus, a medical center, and sports facilities. However, a few folks have suggested the cafeteria could use a facelift and that some washrooms might need better hygiene.
