B.Tech Computer Science Engineering - Batch of 2029-01-01
Academics
Academics in BIT is well structured and focuses on building strong fundamentals. The faculty members are knowledgeable and most of them explain concepts clearly, although maintaining quality may vary from professor to professor or subject to subject . The curriculum is maintained and updated regularly and includes core subjects along with electives . Practical knowledge is often attained through labs , assignments and quizzes , etc . Semester exams are quite challenging and requires constant studying rather than last minute mugging up of answers . The curriculum is often updated and may not always include recent developments in the field . You will have to put your own hard efforts to get a job as obviously getting job is not a "cup of tea". But you will be provided with mentors who will guide you through all obstacles .
College Infra
The infrastructure of BIT MESRA is quite good and well maintained . The campus is large and green , providing peaceful environment for studies. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with projectors and proper seating. Laboratories are big but often lack modern machines as most of the equipment are either very old or in not working position. The central library is big, has wide collection of books , journals and digital resources and hence provides good atmosphere . Hostels are decent with basic facilities although the rooms may be smaller for 2 people in sharing . It has water supplies , cleaning wards and mess facilities . Sports facilities are also very good . It has indoor badminton courts , basketball , volleyball , football , cricket and other sports grounds . Overall the infrastructure supports both academic and extra curricular activities .
Campus Life
Campus life at BIT Mesra is active and balanced , offering both academics and extra-curricular activities . The campus is large green and peaceful which creates a good environment for learning. Students can perform in various technical, cultural fests like BITOTSAV and PANTHEON. The peer group is competative yet supporting and interaction with seniors support overall growth. Faculty and staff members are generally friendly , helpful and approachable . The campus is safe with proper security and basic needs with a Dispensary in the campus . Although the campus is slightly away from the city , regardless it provides good and secured atmosphere for students .
Placements
The placement scenario at BIT Mesra is quite good , especially for core and computer related branches . A significant number of students gets placed every year through campus recruitment . Top recruiters include companies like microsoft , amazon , infosys , TCS , Deloite etc . Highest salaries are offered to students from top branches like CSE and AIML(earlier IT). Average package for most branches range 6-8 Lakhs Per annum . The placement cell is active and supportive conducting supporting training sessions , mock interviews and aptitude preparation to help students perform better . Overall the placement session is good and organised and provides good opportunities for deserving candidates .

The course fee of the bit mesra is on a higher side compared to many other government institutions , but it is justified by the overall environment , quality of academics and placements . The course usually costs around 2,12,000 and additional approx 30k mess and maintanance fee . Considering the tech fests , clubs , placements offers , etc . you get a good money worth.
