BIT Mesra Facilities
With its campus covering 980 acres of land, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra facilities aim for the holistic development of its students and faculty. The main building of BIT Mesra accommodates training and research labs, lecture halls, library etc. These structures cover an area of 30,000 sq. meters. BIT Mesra campus is designed to be fully equipped with facilities for sports, recreational and cultural activities. The lush-green campus of BIT Mesra is completely residential and full of hangout zones and superb hostels.

BIT Mesra has shopping complex, cafeterias, stationery shop, a cooperative bookstore, tailoring units and much more. It also has a well-appointed gymnasium, playgrounds dedicated to several outdoor sports, two auditoriums with accommodation capacity of about 2,500 people and indoor game facilities. To ensure proper accommodation, BIT Mesra also maintains three guest houses. More details on the BIT, Mesra facilities are given as follows.
- Boys Hostel
The BIT Mesra campus has 11 boys’ hostels. The housing is spacious with lush green surroundings. Hostel facilities include common rooms with indoor games, entertainment halls, dining halls, reading rooms and independent mess halls in every hostel
- Girls Hostel
The BIT Mesra campus has three girls’ hostels. The housing is spacious with lush green surroundings. Hostel facilities include common rooms with indoor games, entertainment halls, dining halls, reading rooms and independent mess halls in every hostel
- Medical/Hospital
24x7 fully functioning dispensary is open including Sundays and holidays. About 20 paramedical staff and six doctors work in shifts to attend all IPD, OPD and emergency cases. BIT Mesra health centre is prepared with four ambulances containing first aid & oxygen cylinder facilities.
- Transport Facility
Dedicated transport facility is available for students and teachers with the help of nine buses and various light and heavy commercial vehicles for hassle-free travel.
- Library
It has an automated library thanks to LIBSYS with hybrid resources (electronic and print) with thousands of books, journals, magazines and much more material. It has a dedicated internet section for the students to gain access to online databases, journals, latest researches.
- Banks/ATMs
Three ATMs and two banks – UCO and SBI Bank are in-house to take care of all the banking needs of the staff, students and even the people of neighbouring villages.
- Guest Room/Waiting Room
BIT Mesra provides accommodation in neat & clean, comfortable, hygienic and well-furnished rooms for the convenience of visitors like parents/guardians of students and other institutional guests.
- Convenience Store
The in-campus complex caters to diverse needs of about 5000+ residents, including beauty parlours, tailoring, eateries, stationery shop and the likes. It is a perfect hangout place too!
- I.T Infrastructure
The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. The CAD Laboratory is a central facility of the institute where all undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members- can work with the sophisticated 2-D & 3-D design and analysis software. They can learn to use the latest software and carry out their research work. The CAD Laboratory has a total number of 70 computers (desktops and workstations) with the latest configurations connected with a high-end server through switched networking.

The college has departmental based laboratories facility for the students.
- Sports
The campus is well-equipped with sports facilities for indoor as well as outdoor sports. Intra-college and inter-college tournaments are organized regularly along with training camps or students.
- Gym
Institute has a well-appointed Gymnasium
- Auditorium
Facilities include two auditoriums that can accommodate as many as 2,500 people. This is an ideal venue for cultural events organized by the student community.
