Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi (CUSAT) was established in 1971 under the Government of Kerala, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It was earlier known as the University of Cochin. The college provides 14 undergraduate programmes, 53 postgraduate programmes and 9 M.Phil and Ph.D programmes related to different subjects. CUSAT also provides various infrastructural and academic facilities to the students and faculty members of the Institute. CUSAT is spread over an area of 180 acres. Library- The central library of Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi has more than 95,000 collections including reference books, doctoral theses and back volumes of periodicals, patents, CD-ROM etc. The library was established in 1977. The library timings are 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on second Saturdays and Sundays except holidays.
Hostels- Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi provides separate hostels to girls and boys. Students are allotted hostels based on the availability of rooms. All the hostel rooms are provided with basic amenities and furniture. Other room cleaning facilities, water heater and RO water are also available inside the hostels. Mess facilities are also available for hostellers which serves quality and hygienic food to students.
Canteen- Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi also has a canteen inside the campus serving good quality food items including snacks, beverages and meals. All the food items are prepared keeping taste and hygiene in mind. The canteen remains open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm for all students and other members of the University.
Sports facilities- Various sports facilities are provided by Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi for the students. Various playgrounds are provided for playing cricket, volleyball, kabaddi etc. Other indoor games facilities like carrom, chess, badminton etc are also provided by the Institute.
Infrastructure is average. Facilities and equipments are good. Classrooms are provided with conventional boards and smart tvs as well. Laboratories are well equipped with modern equipments. Library is one of the largest you can get.
it is good state engineering college . placement is good . placement o cs ,it are good as compared to other branches. if you do not get good nits or iit you can join this . average placement for cs is 5 to 6 lakhs
Better infrastructure ,have different buildings for different departments and having lab also for each department. But classrooms don't have AC computer labs only have AC . Have a nice library but for first year labs are so far from main building . Don't have good canteen really need better canteen facilities.

Despite heavy competition, there might be a chance for you to get into CUSAT even for prospective courses like CE and ME, provided your category. Cut offs for OC candidates usually closes within 1000. However, this is just a prediction. There are many colleges which accept higher ranks too. You can have something better too. Cut offs depend on many factors like No. Of Applicants, no. of seats, difficulty level, previous cut offs and so on.
