Hello Aspirant,

According to your percentile your rank is expected in the range of 15,000-20,000 and on such rank and category Mechanical Engineering in CoE, Pune and WCE Sangli is quite difficult because as per previous year's cut-off closing rank for B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering was 1057 and 2090 for CoE, Pune and WCE Sangli respectively.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the links given below :-

https://www.careers360.com/colleges/college-of-engineering-pune/cut-off?college_id=4635&exam_sub_exam_id=5882&counselling_id=4195&caste_id=3&gender_id=1

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Hi Jidnyesh!

Congrats on your Score in MHT CET. It is a great Score. But, I'm afraid that your Score was not under the closing scores of COEP. But, this is based on Cut Off of 2019 and it changes every year. It is difficult to predict them. Below are some of the Colleges where your Score was under their closing scores in 2019:

  • SIES Graduate School of Technology, Mumbai.
  • Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, Nagpur.
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune.
  • Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon.
  • D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune.
  • Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
  • Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Navi Mumbai.

Let's hope for the best!

All the best!

Hello Aspirant,

See there is no 100% accurate method to calculate rank from percentile but if we go through previous years trends than on such percentile your rank is expected in the range of 32,001 – 41,000. Note that this is not your exact rank because it might have slight variations to the actual rank.

You can check out complete details about Percentile Vs Rank and cut-off for different colleges in MHT CET from the link given below :-

If we go through previous year's cut-off for CoE, Pune then it shows that on such rank your brother cannot get either CSE or IT branch even CoE, Pune is quite tough to get on such rank and category. You can check out previous year's cut-off for CoE Pune from the link given below :-

Scope is Mechanical Engineering, is much more than Civil Engineering, be it in Private or Public Sector Enterprises. Unless you have vicinity issues, you could perhaps prefer Mechanical Engineering at IIITDM Kancheepuram, which is one of the better technical institutes in Tamil Nadu, just next to IIT Madras, NIT Trichy and Anna University. The institute has good infrastructure, faculty and research facilties. Most of the Top Companies like TVS, Ashok Leyland, GE, L&T, Bajaj recruit from the institute and secondly being located near Industrial hubs at Chennai provide impetus to training and placements.

Perhaps if you have vicinity issues, COEP Pune Civil might be a good option in that case. COEP in perhaps the oldest and best State technical institute in Maharashtra, next to IIT Bombay and NIT Nagpur.
