Batch of 2016 | M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
As I was a student of M.Tech, It was really a wonderful experience there. Nice teachers, nice laboratories and it was really a nice exposure to students from across the country and other countries like Sudan, UAE, Vietnam, Qatar, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh etc. The study ambiance is fantastic. I am really proud to be a 'GIETian'. Thank you GIET for shaping my career.

I am a pass out of this college GIET,Gunupur . I am working in a MNC now. As an alumni ,I suggest not to go for this college for b.tech. It has a decent infrastructure but the culture is really bad.The authorities want to force everything on the students. The girls are treated as prisoners with outing only on Sunday. As it is situated in a far away rural area, you will miss city lifestyle. Also in terms of campus placements,it brings mostly the IT companies.Once upon a time ,core companies were coming to this college but now they are bringing small scale core companies from aurangabad or Chennai with salary in the range of 10k to 15k. Don’t fall for big advertisements of 98% placement. Now most of students leave those small scale jobs after joing them. The numbers are fake.Go for any decent engineering college in Bhubaneswar.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the college infrastructure. It's just awesome. Secondly, the most important thing is placement and luckily everyone got placement from this college. Good no of IT companies come and recruit students in bulk. No worries for placements. Cons- Food. and very fewer options to roam and enjoy.

GIET Gunupur is focused only on discipline

The classroom was good but faculties were boring. The cool parlor was good but canteen was boring. Clubs were good bt timing of it was odd. Basically, GIET Gunupur is focused only on discipline. All around natural beauty, dis area suits as a study environment but when it comes to placement, 1 can only be dependent on IT companies.

Industry exposure is a concern, remaining all are superb. From students to faculties everywhere you'll find a helping hand with zero % ragging zone. A big central library which is the highest volume holder in the state. Extracurricular activities are always exceptional and most supported.

It was nice

It has Good infrastructure with best professors to teach us. It has got nice facilities, placement is not upto the level as many fake companies are also invited by the college. There is too much restriction for boys and girls. Hostel life was good .food was very bad. College is bad in matter that it does not provide you with degree unless you deposit your 1month salary

The college has a great study environment, the infrastructure is great, has a 20 acre of lush green garden, a pretty decent faculty and an enviable and consistent placement record. College lacks recreational facilities, hostels are admirable. College is situated in a small town so one cannot get much fun out it, no shopping malls and the nearest movie theatre is just 70 km away. I wouldn't say much about the college life because once you make friends you can have fun anywhere. Last but not the least college organises an annual cultural and tech fest that goes on for 3 consecutive days and these 3 days are the most happening days of a student in GIET.

Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
Good College More focused on discipline and academics but less on the detailed study of the matter. Very much sincere matters related to Placement Ragging free and Healthy environment More than a half of Faculties are focused on the marks rather than explaining the concept.Simply mug up the method and apply those without understanding Its actual working on real life scenario and application I think this is the problem in many Institutes, etc

I am enjoying my college life because here there is a great atmosphere for study. But if you think of extra activities then you may not find as per your expectations. But it is a nice college because it provides opportunities to become an efficient engineer.

GIET is a place where a student can experience engineering

Posted on 13 Feb' 16 by Rahul
Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
G.I.E.T. is a good college where a student can learn freely. It has a learning environment. It was established in 1997. It has a good infrastructure. Labs are well equipped with equipment. Though most of the faculty members are new to less teaching experience they teach well. The college has a very hard working Training & Placement Cell that works to make GIETian's employable and it does so. Companies like TCS & Tech Mahindra visit our campus every year. They are the major recruiters. Hostel life is good. Food is good. It has a too much-disciplined environment that makes survival a little difficult, especially for the 1st year students. That's all.

Batch of 2011 | B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Initially when I joined this college I was not that much happy as this college was situated at a very small town of odisha and I was the only one to join this college among my friends. But with my OJEE ranking this was the only reputed college left to join in Electrical and electronics engineering branch. However, within some days of joining this college I started liking it.The college campus was very good and it was surrounded by natural beauties. This was a very calm place and a ideal place for students(studious students) as there was not much source of entertainment available to divert them from study. But still I enjoyed a lot here, made friends for lifetime who are always there to help and support in every aspects of life. The campus have a swimming pool to make you relax specially in summer. Also, there is a gym to keep yourself fit and healthy. The hostels for boys are inside the campus which make it easier for them to avail these facilities. Also, basket ball ground, badminton court and big playground are present inside the campus. The college was completely ragging free. Most of the faculties were good and well experienced ( 2007-2011). But the administration department was little bit strict in most of the things. Around 60-70% of students got placed from my batch. I was lucky to be one of them. But the placement could be made better. Overall, I can say it was very nice experience for me.
