Hii Rajeev,

Hope you are doing good.

Well, 289 is a very secure and safe rank in JEE advanced.

Eligibility criteria for qualifying jee advanced:

Minimum 75% should have been secured in 12th standard (or equivalent) examination. For the SC/ST/PwD category, the aggregate marks is minimum 65% OR. The candidates should be within the top 20 category percentile of the qualifying examination.

Other than this, each every document should be clear and original. Even if you secure a good score in JEE advanced but there is some issue with the documents, it might lead to disqualification of your name.

So, I hope you got my point very well.

ASk if you have any further questions.

Best wishes ahead.

Hi

This is not easy to predict as cut off  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

----------)  number of students that appeared in the jee advanced exam,

----------)  kind of marks obtained by them ,

----------)   toughness level of the examination ,

----------)  number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

>>>>>>>> with 20 st rank

As per round 6 of josaa counselling,  2020 ,

Yes, you do have chances for computer to get IIT  Delhi

For example,

In 6th round of josaa  counselling 2020, 25 st  rank in jee advanced for st category for gender neutral got a seat in  computer science in IIT Delhi.

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction is on the past year data basis but  cut closing rank for colleges changes every year depending upon several factors so

Hey

If you are really interested into aerospace about the flying, aeroplanes and all then it would be a good career option.Aerospace engineering is an evolving discipline full of exciting opportunities and challenges to keep one excited and engaged in its pursuit for ever. With several private players entering the Aerospace industry in India, the opportunities for an Aerospace engineer are only getting better and better.Graduates from this department have the following options

Campus placement (India and abroad)

Higher studies (India and abroad)

Self employment (entrepreneurship and incubation opportunities within campus)

Major Job opportunities for Aerospace Engineers are available in Air Force, Airlines, Corporate Research Companies, Helicopter Companies, Defence Ministry, Aviation Companies, NASA, Flying clubs, Aeronautical Laboratories, Aircraft manufacturers, government owned air services and many others.Top Recruiters are

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)

Defense Research and Development Laboratories (DRDO)

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) etc

In India, the average salary of an Aerospace Engineer as a fresher is above 6 lakhs per year. An aerospace engineer graduated from IITs may expect the maximum salary of 15 lakhs per year.Salary also depends on your experience.

Take the choice based on your interest.

The Department of Energy Science and Engineering (DESE) focuses on research and education for the development of sustainable energy systems for the future.Energy Engineering have a lot of career pathways for students ranging from the variety of services within the value-chain of the Indian power sector from the conception of a product or service through to the delivery of electricity to consumers. The global energy landscape is changing drastically, and if you're an aspiring energy engineer, jobs are proliferating and the opportunities are more. And regardless of the technology used to generate and store energy, there is a growing need to create systems that make efficient use of energy, that is energy engineers will always be in high demand.

Hello Aspirant..

Take a look at Ritik. Candidates have developed the idea that they will enrol in a college and then change branches after a year. Instead of focusing on their curriculum, they begin to concentrate on branch change. This has an impact on their outcomes as well.

However, because you asked about branch change at IIT Kanpur vs IIT Roorkee, I will recommend IIT Kanpur because they have a little more flexibility in branch change. At the end of the second, third, and fourth semesters, you can change branches. Although you would need to put in a lot of effort to achieve a cgpa of approximately 10 in cse and around 9 in electrical and mechanical.

However, I would advise you to follow your heart rather than what others say.

Regards.

Hello,

Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities
  • Industry Exposure

The preference order you should consider is:

  1. IIT Kanpur, Material
  2. IIT Hyderabad, Biomedical/Materials

just to give you an overview about both the branches so you could make an informed decision:

  • Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) combines engineering, physics and chemistry principles to solve real-world problems associated with nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, energy, manufacturing and other major engineering disciplines.
  • Biomedical engineering is the application of the principles and problem-solving techniques of engineering to biology and medicine.
  • As per the current scope is considered currently we have abundant postgrad and doctorate programmes in India for MSE, for Biomedical the scope narrows down in the country but it sure does have wide exposure and opportunities abroad.

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet. More reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.

Hello hello,

Suggesting the best among all is quite difficult as all the mentioned institutes come under the TIER-1 category. See, the confusion is obvious because all three are supreme in placement records and academics with value.

See, I would suggest you go with IIT Goa with computer science. The reason for selecting this is because:

  • Opportunities
  • Placements
  • Future value
  • Easy and understanding
  • More exposure

Electronics in BITS PILANI is a better option as placements are best with decent packages. Also, IIT Kanpur is one of the oldest technical institutes in India.

Now the point for selecting IIT Goa is that you have mentioned Computer science with it. See, you will have the exposure as well as computer science engineering is one the popular branches in the world. Also, the package varies with the skills a candidate has. The role of the in situ is to provide job opportunities but the skills grab the offers.

So better to go with IIT Goa if you want a hassle-free career in terms of jobs and switching to other domains.

Reasons for not going with IIT Kanpur is because the chemical is a core branch so does the job opportunities are quite low. Also, you will need to work very hard if you want the IT sector. If you can manage then you can go with IIT Kanpur and BITS PILANI.

Hope you find this answer helpful.

Thank you:)
