Hello,
Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:
The preference order you should consider is:
just to give you an overview about both the branches so you could make an informed decision:
I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet. More reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.
To know your chances of getting into Indian Institutes of Technologies, counselling-round wise cut-offs and to Analyze and identify the best colleges & courses you can get based on your rank for Engineering through personalised report delivered on mail check the JEE Advanced College Predictor tool:

Hello hello,
Suggesting the best among all is quite difficult as all the mentioned institutes come under the TIER-1 category. See, the confusion is obvious because all three are supreme in placement records and academics with value.
See, I would suggest you go with IIT Goa with computer science. The reason for selecting this is because:
Electronics in BITS PILANI is a better option as placements are best with decent packages. Also, IIT Kanpur is one of the oldest technical institutes in India.
Now the point for selecting IIT Goa is that you have mentioned Computer science with it. See, you will have the exposure as well as computer science engineering is one the popular branches in the world. Also, the package varies with the skills a candidate has. The role of the in situ is to provide job opportunities but the skills grab the offers.
So better to go with IIT Goa if you want a hassle-free career in terms of jobs and switching to other domains.
Reasons for not going with IIT Kanpur is because the chemical is a core branch so does the job opportunities are quite low. Also, you will need to work very hard if you want the IT sector. If you can manage then you can go with IIT Kanpur and BITS PILANI.
Hope you find this answer helpful.
Thank you:)

Hi
IIT Kanpur doesn't offer mechatronics but it does offer mechanical engineering
I am guessing you are from general category
This is a bit difficult to predict the rank required in to get a seat as cut off keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like
----------) number of students that appeared in the jee advanced exam,
----------) kind of marks obtained by them ,
----------) toughness level of the examination ,
----------) number of seats available for the branch you want etc.
But yes,
When we go through previous year trend then ,
In round 6 of josaa counselling, 2020 , 2542 rank was closing/last rank in jee advanced for general category for gender neutral to get mechanical engineering in IIT kanpur
You can check the same at
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
So, you need at least around 2500 rank in JEE advanced for mechanical engineering in IIT Kanpur
To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to, your home state, your gender etc, the link for jee college predictor is provided below

Hey there
IIT Kanpur offers more than 60 courses related to technology and Engineering. Admission to the BTech program in IIT Kanpur is granted on the basis of merit scores achieved by the students in JEE.

Hi.
Cut-offs are the minimum required marks for a candidate to be deemed as ‘Qualified’ in the examination. There are cut-off ranks as well which means the highest rank that a college has accepted a student into. Example, if cutoff rank for an engineering college is 2000 then all the students who have gotten a rank higher that 2000 will not be able to get a seat. Please note, that cutoff rank is different for every course in every college and they vary as per the reservation category as well. That said, to get admission into IIT you will not be able to do so for a B.Tech course because you will not meet the eligibility criteria for JEE Advance due to year restrcitions. However, you can pursue Robotic Engineering in M.Tech in an IIT.
Good Luck
Hi Aspirant,
Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you, you should work hard and should focus on achieving high and high in entrance exam it totally depends upon the examination if paper is simple then cutoff goes high gradually and if paper or examination is hard then cutoff goes down. You should certainly work hard and should try to achieve high and high in examination.
Hope you found this answer useful.Stay motivated stay positive.
All the best!
Hello Gampa Snehith,
Firstly, you have a wonderful dream of pursuing engineering from India's most prestigious universities IIT KANPUR.
Since you are just studying in class 12th you have all the time to prepare for JEE MAINS as well as JEE ADVANCED.
What people say and perceive of you is a mirror image of what they think about themselves. So it should be of no concern to you. People around us are mostly who never succeed in their respective lives and never want you to move forward and do something great and achieve something which is just Wow.
Just focus on the studies you do, ignore all the talks that people make about you, work on yourself, keep the focus on you, your health both physical and mental.
The Indian testing system is designed in such a way where the student is checked both in studies as well as your mental strength.
And always remember WHERE THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY.
ALL THE BEST
Dear,
I would say that Computer Science, Mathematics & Computing, Manufacturing Science and Economics are some great courses. These are branches that are generally available in different and mutually exclusive rank ranges and thus this gives a good option for entire spectrum of ranks that one can end up with.
But the truth is your branch creates little difference in where you end up after graduating from the old IITs. What matters is getting into the institute.
The institute offers same opportunities to all the students irrespective of their branches. Its these opportunities that helps these students progress better than that of any other engineering graduate. These opportunities include best peer-to-peer learning environment, abundance of societies to cater to different student interests, freedom to take up extra credits/projects etc., support for national/international level extra-academic events etc.
Hope this helps!
There are well-furnished labs, classrooms and a library, and there is a free Wi-Fi connection in the college. The food provided by the mess is decent and in addition, the campus has various other refreshment outlets like Coffee Day Express.
The infrastructure here at IIT Kanpur is really good and well maintained. The basic facilities like library, classrooms, lecture halls are high tech and really advanced. Even the new hostels are really cool and good.
The campus of IIT kanpur is very nice as it has all the necessary equipments and facilities which are required for proper study environment. The facilities like WiFi, smart board all are fully functional and well maintained.
