Thank you

It totally depends on your choice but according to me iit is itself is a brand name. Any thing related to iit is great and worth ed for money. Even it is iit madras so obviously it is having higher value. It has many uses such as hand on degree and work from home rather then going to madras for the same.

If you are looking forward to getting your UG or PG degree, then the answer to your question is YES. An IIT Madras degree is worth it, undoubtedly.

According to the 2020 NIRF Rankings, IIT Madras topped the list. However, most consider IIT Bombay to have greater brand value but that doesn't mean IIT Madras is any far behind. Every year companies such as Microsoft, Uber (US), Micron Tech (Singapore) & Rubrik Inc (US)  provide placements to the students. Moreover it has top-notch faculty and infrastructure.

In short, if you ask whether the degree is worth it or not, I'll give you a small example- Most people won't even bat an eye if you graduate from any private engineering college with an average GPA, but if it is IIT Madras or any other IIT for the matter your life in the corporate world automatically becomes easier. So if you are willing to get into IIT Madras, go for it.

Wishing you all the success in life.

hi,

see bsc course on data science is the newly program launched by iit madras., students who have dropped from their graduation or currently pursuing any bachelor course are eligible to apply. however it would be an distance learning program,

The program is split into three levels that have to be completed strictly in sequence:

1: Foundational Level (8 courses)

2: Diploma Level (6 Programming courses + 6 Data Science courses)

3: Degree Level (11 courses)

however as per the official brochure there is no mention of compulsory placement. also there is no mention of projects, course is divided in several parts and you have to qualify the exam to get the certificates of each step. this course is best for those who are working professional or in any other course pursuing want to join for learning and further careers growth.

Dear Aspirant,

This is a new course and placements are yet to be seen, however, the field of data science is one of the most promising field in the computer science and engineering and you can therefore expect good quality placements.

As for the actual figures can not be given, average pay of a data scientist is approx 6-8 LPA. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
