Hi,
According to the general criteria for MBA, the candidate must have done graduation in any stream along with atleast 50% marks scored in the bachelors for colleges. For NIT Silchar, the minimum marks are 55% and a relaxation of 5% is for those who belongs to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates. Since, your score is lower than this, it will be quite difficult to get admission in NIT Silchar. However you can appear for entrance exams and try for other colleges.

Yes, NIT Silchar is one of the better Technical Institutes in Northeast after IIT Guwahati having a fair share of Non Core, Software, IT, Analytics, Finance Placements, Project and Internship prospects. Besides keeping up your grades and atleast 7.5-8 CGPA in Civil Engineering, you must start with mastering C, C++ and Python Languages respectively. Followed by proficiency in Software Development, Competitive Programming, Data Structure and Algorithms as well as Modern Technologies like Data Science and Machine Learning for All Round Profile Development. Start targeting Projects and Internship Opportunities right from your 2nd Year, as they do help you with CV/Resume Building.
hello aspirant,
89 percentile would fetch you a rank around 85657-115045.from your profile it shows that you are from west bengal for which nit silchar would be through other state quota.now based on last year cutoffs for round 6 closing ranks for nit silchar for other state is
39263 for civil engineering
30500 for mechanical engineering.these are closing ranks and least cutoffs and for cse the cutoff is around 11k.based on this you have very low chances to fetch seat in nit silchar.you need minimum of 97-98+ to fetch seat there. work better and improve your score for upcoming sessions so that you can fetch a seat in your desired college.for more information about cutoffs you can refer to: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-silchar
hope this helps,
thankyou.
good luck!
I believe at a EWS Rank of 28k besides having Home State Advantage you might have bleak chances in securing a seat in NIT Silchar in CSAB. However do apply for the process and keep an eye on the Counselling Procedure and Dates. For more information do follow the link below

College infrastructure is good not excellent as it is a very old college( built in 1960's) so not as good as private colleges but it is ok campus is very big and there is no issue in hostels or classes they are comfortable enough. They provide all the basic facilities to students.Hostels are cleaned almost everyday.Classrooms are occupied with smart boards and well maintained benches.
NIT Silchar maintains a well-maintainned campus with modern infrastructure - spacious classrooms equipped with smart boards, central library, sports facilities and descent hostels. Overall infrastructure is good which helps in excelling in academics and extra-curricular activities.
There is no doubt that NIT Silchar has one of the most beautiful campus in country. For a nature lover like me ,it is sure that you are going to have a good time.NIT Silchar is one of the oldest NITS and is regarded as one of the best NIT . NIT Silchar has the largest Digital library in India .
