The Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University ( PDPU ) and Dhirubai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology both are state universities offering Engineering courses. Both the universities are ranked " A ' by the NAAC.

When we go for rankings then the PDPU is ranked 32nd in best Universities, whereas the DAIICT lacks in ranking.

As per the reviews of students and experts, DAIICT has more positive ratings than the PDPU. The faculty, facility and other services like accommodation, environment is better in DAIICT than the PDPU.

Talking about the placements,

In PDPU, various well renowned companies like ESSAR, Yes Bank, GAIL India Ltd., INFOSYS, Reliance Industries Ltd., ICICI Bank, Indian Oil, L & T, GSPC, Mahindra, etc. visit the campus for recruitments.

In DAIICT too, various well renowned companies like ORACLE, Linked In, Hike, Airtel, Amazon.com, Samsung, Mu SIgma, Tata Consultancy, Yahoo, Google, Flipkart, etc. visit the campus for recruitments.

The average salary offered to candidates in PDPU is INR 3.25 Lakhs with highest salary ever offered of INR 19 Lakhs per annum, whereas the average salary offered in DAIICT is INR 9 Lakhs per annum with the highest salary ever offered of INR 15 Lakhs per annum.

in pdpu  computer engineering started from 2016.hence we can know expected average package in 2020 only.

Placements in ICT branch got freshly opened in PDPU .the senior most batch in ICT will be getting placed in 2020. However, from the petroleum branch, previous year, the highest package is 18 lacs per annum. The average package was 9 lacs per annum.

basically, petroleum engineering and technology gets the highest package compared to other branches.

Last year ONGC had recruited around 15–20 Petroleum Engineers with a package of around 14–15 lacs, which is a huge number.

Otherwise if you compare average salary, petroleum engineers get an average package of around 5–6 lacs.

If you have good knowledge and fluent communication skills, definitely you might be the one who get placed in the good companies with wonderful packages.

Yes you can get admitted into PDPU and DAIICT through JEE Main.

DAIICT also provides tuition fee waiver to students who secure a rank inside 5000 in JEE Main.

If not through JEE, admission into these colleges is possible through GUJCET. However, you need better marks in board exams, since normalisation occurs for the final result of GUJCET, and these institutes only accept the top students (through GUJCET).

Since there are no official records to what the cutoff for admission to PDPU is every year, it is quite difficult to predict the percentile. But However, based on students' reviews and critical analysis, a percentile above 60-65 should fetch you a seat at PDPU. Good luck.

You have a pretty decent CAT score so you can easily get into good colleges like

• XISS Ranchi
• XIME Bangalore
• Prin L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai
• LBSIM Delhi
• IMT Nagpur
• IMI Bhubaneshwar and other colleges

If you want to have a good start in your career as a manager PDPU won't be a good option for you since you have a good CAT percentile.

So do check out for the colleges mentioned above. They have a good MBA/PGDM program and a strong alumni base.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is a good college for learning management.Plcanents here are also good with package peer annum ranges from 6-8 lakhs.Top management courses in PDPU are :

• Energy and Infrastructure management
• General Management

Pandit Deendayal petroleum University is a good college but information and communication technology branch is not good in that college. Dahirubahi Ambani institute of information and communication technology is better for information and communication course.

When I was applying for colleges, I had also applied in PDPU and got a merit rank of 4200 and was not allotted any branch in the whole counselling process. So I guess that is what's going to happen with you as well. What you can do is wait and see what happens but do not expect an allottment from PDPU and focus on other colleges.

In PDPU the highest package gorse to petroleum branch but CS placement is also good.70% students are placed every year(according to college website).
The highest package goes upto 14-16 lakhs and the average is 5-8 lakhs p.a.
