Dear aspirant,
I would like to tell you that iem kolkata is a very strict college and they keep their students in discipline so I don't think you can enjoy your hostel Life but the college has good placements so you can take that if your aim is not nit or iit or Jadavpur.
Greetings!
There is no big difference between the both as both are Engineering degree courses . Both these courses have a lot of theory and practical applications.
If you're interested in both Hardware and Software you may very well choose CSE.
If you're interested in only Software, then you may very well choose CST.
However it will never make any much difference.
Dear Student,
This is one of the world class Private University. The Campus life is healthy, fresh lush green campus. There are three canteens in the campus. The food is also good in that canteens. The hostel is also very good. The library of this institute is full of books almost 9000 in number. Various social work is also done by the rotaracts club. Hello Arindam,
The Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) is a government Institution while University of Engineering and Management (UEM) is a private Institution. Among these two, UEM is among the top ranked colleges in state of West Bengal and therefore it's cutoffs are high. While, you can easily get admission in IEM through an entrance exam conducted by them.
In the placement view, IEM seems to have higher placement records than UEM.

The CS engineering programme usually deals with how to build micro processors, how to write a compiler etc. IT is the business side of computers - usually dealing with databases, business, and accounting. One way to think of it is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes and CSE deals with the “science” that facilitates these applications.
Further, while CSE focuses on the foundation of computing, IT as a discipline focuses on satisfying the computing technology needs of organisations. So, in a continuum between principles and application, IT focuses more on application, with the goal being to apply knowledge of computing sciences for solving problems. However, as the foundations of IT are in Computer Science, Indian universities and colleges deem it feasible to have a CS-based IT programme. This allows a graduate of the programme to choose a career in CS or IT, based on their choice and availability of job prospects. And mostly corporates make little difference between these disciplines while selecting students.
The nature of the industry requirements in the country also plays a crucial role. Since most of the companies in this sector focus on application development and maintainance at best, the need for hard core reserach level employees is minimal. So even if a student is taught subjects like chip design architecture, machine level languages , his or her chances of getting a career in that domain is minimal.
UEM kolkata is a good college and the average package was 6lacs and last year.
ALL THE BEST
Dear Bedatreekarmakar,
1.)Dinabandhu Andrews Institute of technology

If you have any query then feel free to ask!!
The college has a well maintained campus with latest technology and infrastructure. It has all the required labs and resources dedicated to advance technology and the library also covers all good academic resources.
The UEM campus at Kolkata is a huge campus very strategically located at New Town near IT hub of the state just beside the IIT campus, 15 minutes drive from airport. It is comprised of a 1,36,000 square feet building and another 2 lakhs square feet is being constructed at the moment.
Normal tier 3 college infrastructure , but ut has good labs , many classrioms which are airconditioned but some time we have to sit with 200 other students in combined class 9ther wise the college is ok .
