AMIMT, Pathankot Admission Process

AMIMT Institute of Management and Technology (AMIMT), Pathankot, boasts a rich educational history in offering a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of Management, Information Technology, Commerce, and Agriculture. The admission process is structured to clear good candidates for the 16 full-time courses in several disciplines that are offered at the institute.

The admission cycle for AMIMT usually kicks off before the commencement of the academic year which is in August-September. There are different intake measures available for different programmes types where applications are accepted from multiple criteria such as academic performance in qualifying examinations and performance scores in relevant entrance tests. Management offerings are possible through AMIMT by passing the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT).

Commonly required minimum eligibility for the undergraduate programmes at AMIMT for most of the courses is passing from a recognized board with 10+2. Postgraduate students should have either completed their degree from a recognized university or are doing the same in the relevant discipline. Application Process

The application process for AMIMT, Pathankot is simple and designed to ensure accessibility to all eligible candidates. Here is the step-wise process for applying:

2. Select the program of interest and go through the eligibility criteria and admission requirements carefully.

3. Download and fill in the application form accurately, giving personal and academic details.

  • Passport size photographs
  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th and graduation as applicable)
  • Entrance exam score card (for programs with entrance exams like CMAT for MBA)

5. Pay the application fee as specified against the program selected.

6. Submit the completely filled application form along with all necessary documents online or at the admission office of the institute before the deadline.

7. For those programs that call for an entrance exam, such as MBA, prepare and take the CMAT.

8. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for a personal interview or additional tests depending on what the program requires.

9. Final selection is usually based on academic performance and the entrance examination score (if taken) in addition to performance in an interview or additional tests.

10. Selected candidates will be given an offer letter of admission along with instructions on fee payment and document verification.

11. Complete the whole process of admission by paying the fees and submitting original documents for verification in the stipulated time frame.

Degree wise Admission Process

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): AMIMT provides a BCA program with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. Admission is granted based on the performance of the applicant in the qualifying examination (10+2) with mathematics and computer science as compulsory subjects. Total fees charged for BCA is Rs 54,000.

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration): AMIMT admits 60 students into the BBA program. Generally, candidates are admitted based on their merit in the 10+2 examination. Students who have studied commerce or business studies at this level are usually given some preference for admission.

B.Com (Hons): The B.Com (Hons) program offered by AMIMT is for students aspiring to pursue commerce. Candidates will be admitted based on their performance in the 10+2 examination in commerce subjects.

MBA (Master in Business Administration): The MBA program at AMIMT is approved for 60 seats. Admission will be based on CMAT followed by a possible personal interview. The program is open for students with a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications): AMIMT offers MCA programs in postgraduate studies in computer applications. The admission requirement generally includes a relevant bachelor degree and performance in a computer aptitude test. Total course fees for MCA is Rs 70,000.

M.Sc Information Technology: This program focuses on postgraduate studies, specifically in advanced IT. Admission to the program is based on the applicant's performance in his or her bachelor's degree in a relevant field. The total course fee for M.Sc Information Technology work is Rs 35,000.

M.Com: AMIMT offers a master's degree for advanced studies in commerce. A student will be admitted based on his scores in B.Com or an equivalent degree. Total course fee for M.Com program is Rs 35,000.
