Anna University’s Centre for Distance Education (CDE), Chennai, is one of the premier institutions delivering distance education in India. CDE was officially founded back in 2007 with the main and noble aim of making higher education accessible to every student in India. The centre is established in Chennai – one of the liveliest cities in India – and affiliated with Anna University which occupies the top rank among engineering and technological universities in the country.

The centre currently provides three postgraduate programs: The post graduate programs are Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Science in Computer Science (M.Sc Computer Science), and Master of Business Administration (MBA). The MCA program is a course of three years being a full time programme on the other hand the M.Sc Computer Science & MBA programme are distance programme which take two years each to complete. These programs are educative offering senior students an exposure to up to date knowledge as well as skills in the area of specialized technology and business that considers them for leadership positions in the technology and business professionals.
