B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2027-01-01
Academics
The academic environment is satisfactory, with faculty members covering the prescribed syllabus and providing guidance when required. The curriculum offers a basic understanding of engineering concepts and helps students build a foundation in their respective disciplines. However, there is a greater need for industry-oriented learning, practical exposure, and updated course content to keep pace with current technological advancements. Students who actively participate in projects, internships, and self-learning initiatives can gain valuable skills beyond the classroom. Overall, academics are decent but require more focus on innovation and practical applications.
College Infra
The college infrastructure is average and meets the basic requirements of students. Classrooms are functional, and laboratories provide the necessary equipment for practical sessions. The library contains a decent collection of academic books and study materials. Hostel and canteen facilities are available, making campus life convenient for students. However, some facilities require modernization and better maintenance. Improvements in laboratory equipment, internet connectivity, and recreational spaces would significantly enhance the overall student experience. The campus environment is generally pleasant, but there is room for development to match the standards of top engineering institutions.
Campus Life
Campus life is moderately enjoyable, with cultural events, technical fests, sports activities, and student clubs providing opportunities for engagement beyond academics. Students can interact with peers from diverse backgrounds and participate in extracurricular activities that contribute to their personal growth. However, the frequency and scale of events could be increased to create a more vibrant campus atmosphere. Overall, campus life is decent and offers a balanced experience, though there is scope for more student-driven initiatives and recreational opportunities.
Placements
Placement opportunities are average, with a mix of IT and service-based companies visiting the campus. The placement cell organizes recruitment drives, training sessions, and skill development programs to assist students in preparing for interviews and aptitude tests. While some students secure good job offers, many need to put in extra effort through self-study, certifications, and internships to improve their employability. Core engineering opportunities are comparatively limited. Students who consistently develop their technical and communication skills have a better chance of achieving successful placements.
Value For Money
The college provides reasonable value for money considering the education, facilities, and opportunities available. Students receive access to classrooms, laboratories, library resources, and extracurricular activities at a moderate cost. However, improvements in infrastructure, placements, and industry exposure would further justify the investment. The overall return on investment depends largely on the student's personal efforts, skill development, and participation in various academic and professional activities.

B.Tech Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2029-01-01
Academics
I'm currently studying in Btech First year in Electrical engineering and according to me this college has the best faculties in this branch in the whole Asansol-Durgapur division. The quality of teaching is really very good and the teachers are undoubtedly very talented. They guide us in the best way possible. The recent study-curriculum is updated according to the latest as being in Electrical Engineering line we can also study about computer and animation in the upcoming semesters as said by our HOD.
College Infra
Dr.BC Roy Engineering College as seen so far by me has one the best infrastructure, facilites and equipment. Starting from internet facilities to teachers' support everything is just up to the mark. Classrooms have neat and clean desks and benches, blackboards and every other essential thing. Laboratories have best equipments and all other best educational related things as well as the Lab Assistants and teachers. Libraries are also very useful as they contain every other books the students need and the students don't need to buy books from outside and they are undoubtedly well-maintained. The living spaces and food canteens are also very hygienic.
Campus Life
The campus life is good enough. The students, the seniors are friendly. The teachers, staff, guards are also very friendly. It feels like home. It's location is quite good and it can definitely handle emergencies as Every important institutions like hospital, police stations are near it I mean just a few kilometres away.
Placements
According to me, placements are basically upon the students that is how they score and how they perform. College is just a backbone to the student's placement which according to me this college does in a great manner. In my stream, more than 90% placements have been recorded and the highest salary is 6lakhs per annum as heard.
Value For Money
My course of Electrical Engineering cost around 5,50,000 for 4years.I think the money is worth it according to the quality of education and educational extra-curricular activities.
