Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Ludhiana Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

In this laboratory, various types of hand-operated circular knitting machines are equipped such as pattern wheel machines, jack round machines, round machines, etc. In this section students of the second semester are given training about the technical as well as an operational part of each machine, they are trained how to knit fabrics for the purpose of children wears and other outerwear garments.

In order to provide technical assistance, the computer center makes use of a wide range of computer facilities. The institution has chosen a system based on workstation under Windows which provides interconnection and exchange of data between the various systems & enables us to provide our users with a working environment adapted to their requirements & students with tools reflecting the standard of the computer industry. At present, in the computer center there are around 30 computers & have internet access and other services 24hrs & 365 days a Year. Along with that has a Scanner, Plotters, Digitizers, and Color Printers.

The center of learning has been functioning with the aim of encouraging self-learning and to supplement academics, boost research and development activities and to promote consultancy activities. At present library is housed in a multistoried building situated in the midst of all departments and is easily accessible to all. For the smooth functioning of the library, it has been divided into different sections and readers have been allowed open access to the library holdings. The library at present is having 3582 Books/Titles and 6190 Volumes.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
