Guruvayurappan Institute of Management, Navakkarai Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a Men’s Hostel located within the Campus, barely five minutes' walk away from the Academic block. Executive-style rooms, on a twin/triple sharing basis, are available. Each room is self-contained with an attached toilet/bathroom. Care is taken to minimize power outages in the hostel with the help of power generators. Water coolers are provided on all the Floors. Also, recreation facilities, 24-hour security, housekeeping, and regular maintenance are provided to the residents.

The College has a Women’s Hostel, known as ‘Gems Hostel ’, which is located adjacent to the Academic block, in an independent compound within the GIM campus. 24-hour power and water supply is made available. 24-hour security service is also provided. Twin/triple sharing rooms, each executive style design provides the right ambiance for girls to experience a home away from home lifestyle. A WIFI facility is available. Adequate arrangements for housekeeping are also provided.

The College has Library ensures that its collections remain forward-looking, diverse in breadth and form, open to browsing, and of renowned quality. We ensure that all users are aware of the resources available to them and make access to these resources easier. To serve the needs of future users, the Library preserves information in formats that are widely used and ensures effective storage and retrieval systems are in place. The Library’s physical and virtual spaces respond to the changing habits of its users to enrich the campus experience. The Library’s collaboration with expanding circles of partners yields unified access, broadening knowledge, and enhanced services.

The College has a well-maintained Volleyball Court, Cricket Court, and Football Field to facilitate the students with outdoor games. Facilities for indoor games are also available, which include table tennis, carrom, chess, etc. The Sports Committee consists of student representatives and Faculty to monitor the activities of the Sports Club.

The College has Information Technology, which is no longer an innovation as it has become an integral ingredient for the success of business organizations. GIM has a state-of-the-art laboratory with adequate hardware and software to facilitate the students to improve their skills. Computer skills are imparted to all the students through training in various software packages. The Lab is equipped with 120 systems and has 24-hour access to the internet with broadband connectivity. The lab remains open from 8.00 am to 7:00 pm

The College operates an exquisite cafeteria for the Students, Faculty, and Staff of the Institute. The cafeteria offers Students, Faculty, and Staff breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a very hygienic environment. The menu is prepared by the Committee, considering Student representatives, Faculty, Administration, and Chef.

The College has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has a department-based laboratory facility for the students.

The College is WIFI enabled. The WIFI technology-supported connectivity is available in the Administrative block, Academic block, and Men’s and Women’s Hostel. This facilitates the Faculty and Students to access the web 24 x 7. The students are required to register their laptops with the Systems Administrator of the Institute so that access to the WIFI connection is provided individually. This registration will be valid for a period of two years while the students are in campus.

The College has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The College has transport facilities made available to the students who hail from Palakkad and Coimbatore areas to commute between the Campus and their homes. The buses ply from Coimbatore, Palakkad, and Lakkidi to the Campus on all working days. The transport facility is also made available on the Campus for the use of hostelers in case of a medical emergency.

The College has Students operate a mini-market within the GIM campus. Popularly known as ‘GIM Shoppe ’, it caters to the essential needs of the Faculty, Students, and Staff of the Institute. The student committee, which maintains the GIM Shoppe, ensures that all required stationery, refreshments, snacks, toiletries/cosmetics are adequately stocked.

The College also provides good classroom facilities for all the students.
