As a Robotics and Automation student at Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology (KVCET), I am satisfied with the academic quality. The college follows the Anna University curriculum, which covers core subjects like Kinematics, Microcontrollers, and Industrial Automation very well.
What I really appreciate is the faculty support. The staff members are very approachable and always ready to clarify doubts, whether it’s about theoretical concepts or practical projects. The Robotics and Innovation labs are well-equipped with PLC kits and embedded system tools (like Arduino/Raspberry Pi setups), which helped me gain the confidence to work on real hardware. This academic foundation was a major reason I could clear the technical interview for my internship at Meera Laser Solutions. If you are willing to learn, the faculty will definitely support you.
College Infra
As a Robotics and Automation Engineering student at Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology, I find the infrastructure well-suited for our technical growth. The department labs are equipped with essential automation tools, including PLC kits, SCADA systems, and IoT kits by Rexroth (Bosch). These facilities were incredibly helpful for me to understand the practical side of automation before I started my internship at Meera Laser Solutions.
The campus is spacious and greenery-filled, located right on the GST Road, which makes it accessible. The library is well-stocked with reference books and e-journals that support our academic research. The college also has KIMS (Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences) inside the campus, so medical facilities are available 24/7, which is a huge plus. The transport facility covers key areas like Chennai and Chengalpattu, making the commute easier for day scholars
Campus Life
Campus life at KVCET is really pleasant. The first thing you notice is how green and spacious the campus is, which makes it a nice place to hang out after classes. Since the Medical & Dental College (KIMS) is inside the same campus, there’s always a lively crowd, and we get to interact with students from different streams, not just engineers.
We have regular Cultural Fests and Technical Symposiums which are the highlights of the year. For a Robotics student like me, the technical symposiums are great for showcasing projects. The canteen provides decent food, and it's a common hangout spot for everyone. There is a good balance between discipline during class hours and freedom during breaks.
Placements
Placements at Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology (KVCET) are decent. For general placements, companies like TCS, Infosys, Sutherland, and Wipro visit the campus regularly. The average package is usually around 3 to 4 LPA, though some students have cracked higher packages.
Being a Robotics and Automation student, I was more focused on core jobs. While mass recruiters are mostly IT-based, the department supports us in finding core internships which can convert to full-time jobs. I secured an internship at Meera Laser Solutions through the knowledge gained here. The placement cell also conducts soft skill training and mock interviews from the third year, which is really helpful for confidence building.
Value For Money
Compared to many other engineering colleges in the Chennai/Kancheepuram region, Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology offers a very reasonable fee structure. The return on investment (ROI) is high because the college provides access to premium facilities like the Bosch-Rexroth Joint Centre of Competence and advanced Robotics labs without charging exorbitant extra fees.
Considering that I secured a core internship at Meera Laser Solutions while studying here, I feel the money spent on my education has been worth it. The college invests in student development through workshops and industrial visits, making it a value-for-money choice for middle-class students who want quality education without a massive financial burden.
