Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
Now let's go through your question.
As you will be knowing that each campus has a perk of its own. As far as teaching and learning are concerned, both the colleges are well stacked up with amazing teachers, activities, academics, training etc. The contrast is in the fact that KMC Mangalore has a dispersed campus. Unlike Manipal, we have to interact with and travel through a city while we study.
I personally like Mangalore because, along with getting done with the course, I feel that one gets to learn to live an independent life here Science can be mastered anywhere with effort with time, but the Art of it must be cared for by people of dedication and experience, it must be sown, grown, tended and protected like a plant, allowing its roots to grow strong and deep, before it can spread its branches like a banyan tree, providing shelter to everything which take refuge under it.
*To me, Manipal or Mangalore, I would recommend Kasturba Medical College even over Govt Institutes for MBBS training.
Thank You & All the best!
Kasturba medical college(KMC), manipal is one of the premier medical institutions in india. And it is not easy for a student to land up there. The previous year cutoffs for KMC manipal were as follows;
First round 521
Second round 506
Mop up round 496
Since , this year , the cutoffs are higher than the previous year , so a minimum score of 520 is needed to get a seat there. Since your score is much less than that , your chances are negligible to get a seat there.
To predict your chances of getting a medical seat on the basis of your NEET AIR ,use NEET predictor tool:

Hello Sanjay,
For MBBS admission into any college you have to apply for the counselling first. Based on the marks you have obtained in the NEET you will be given the admission. Therefore first of all apply and appear for the counselling rounds. You can apply for the colleges through the state counselling or the all India counselling.
Good luck!
Hello Archi Raj, both the colleges, Kasturba medical college, Manipal as well as Manglore are equally good in studies, and placements. But I will Rate KMC Manglore slightly higher than KMC Manipal, as Manglore is one of the cleaner and safest place to live. And you can live a good life here, having various facilities like International airport, etc.
Dear Candidate
See as per your Marks-497 it is difficult to get a Government Medical Seat even if you have a state quota and another quota if applicable. You should have maintained a score above 550 to be on the safer side.
You cannot get into any medical college with this mark.
It is not possible to get into ESIC IP Quota.
At this stage, I will suggest you must use this link to get a fair idea about the colleges both Private and Government you can get as per the score you have received and then plan accordingly.

Dear Mayank
According to the list of admitted student in 2018 for Kasturba medical college, Mangalore the last students to get admission through govt. quota in UR category was with 435 neet marks, SC student with 264 and ST student with 336.
As for KMC, Manipal, from the list of admitted student for mbbs 2018, I only found that the last UR admitted student through management quota was with 494 marks but I am sure with your marks, the chances will be good here also.
Hope this helps you.
Hello Archi
If you consider last year cutoffs then Yes. Mangalore closed at 14k rank in first round and looking at the seat matrix for second round your chances are very bright. All the best. But this year the cutoffs are expected to rise so keep your fingers crossed.
Best of the facilities are provided here, experienced clinicians and faculty who are always here to guide and support in academics and beond. Hostel provide conducive enviroment for students to grow.
This is one of the best thing about KMC. It has a huge campus and it is really beautiful. The place is very clean and the hostel facilities are really good. The food is also very healthy and hygienic. There is all kind of facilities available here.
The college infrastructure was good in our college, it had all the facilities and equipment. library was also very good and was full of useful books arranged systematically. classrooms and labs were also good.
