KCG College of Technology offers admissions to the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. The programmes offered for KCG College of Technology admissions are B.E/B.Tech, M.E and Ph.D. Candidates first have to register for TNEA in order to take admission to the B.E/B.Tech programme. Merit list and cutoff are released to shortlist the candidates for TNEA counselling. Shortlisted candidates are allotted seats on the basis of ranks, preference filled, etc. For KCG College of Technology admission to the M.E programme, candidates first have to appear for GATE or TANCET. After the declaration of the result, a merit list is released based on which TANCA counselling is conducted. Seats are allocated to the candidates during the counselling process. As per the KCG College of Technology Chennai admission procedure for the Ph.D programme, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of an entrance exam, conducted by Anna University followed by an interview. It must be noted that only the qualified candidates can appear for the interview. Final selection of the candidates is based on the marks of the entrance test, qualifying examination and personal interview. Candidates have to submit the documents and pay the fees as the last step of the KCG College of Technology admission procedure.

B.E/B.Tech is a four-year full-time undergraduate programme offered by KCG College of Technology. The programme is offered in the following areas: computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, artificial intelligence and data science, information technology, aeronautical engineering, aerospace engineering, fashion technology, automobile engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, mechanical engineering and mechatronics engineering.

Second, candidates have to appear for GATE, conducted by IIT Kharagpur or Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET), conducted by Anna University.
Third, after the declaration of the result, ranks and merit list are released.
A separate merit list is released for GATE qualified candidates.
Fourth, candidates whose names are on the merit list have to appear for TANCA counselling and give preference to KCG College of Technology.
Finally, after the seat allotment candidates have to report to the allotted institute and submit the documents and pay the fees.
Ph.D is a full-time and part time doctoral level programme offered by KCG College of Technology Chennai. Electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering and mechanical engineering are the specialisations offered by the institute in the Ph.D programme.
