Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC) located in Kolkata is a renowned government-associated medical institution under the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, founded in 1948 and acknowledged by the NMC and WHO. It provides an MBBS course admitting 250 students, as well as postgraduate programs for MD, MS, DM, and M.Ch. degrees. The college imposes a remarkably low yearly tuition fee of approximately Rs 11,000 for MBBS seats in the general category. Being a government entity, hostel lodging is very economical, costing around Rs 4,000 yearly, with extra mess fees between Rs 12,000 and Rs 18,000 each year, based on the type of room.
