It's my privilege to tell that I'm persuing my Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering in Parala Maharaja Engineering College which consists of beautiful infrastructure and natural environment.
Academic wise I would say it is an very good college. Professors are dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning experiences, incorporating innovative teaching methods and encouraging critical thinking.
The placement scenario at your college is characterized by an average performance, reflecting a mix of opportunities for graduating students. The placement cell diligently works to connect students with potential employers, organizing recruitment drives and providing career guidance.
The value of money at your college is commendable, reflecting a positive correlation between the tuition investment and the quality of education and resources provided. Students receive substantial returns.
The institution prioritizes a student-centric approach, offering a diverse range of programs that align with industry demands. The emphasis on practical skills, research opportunities, and extracurricular activities further enhances the overall educational experience.
my college does not have gymnasium, proper computer classes , although AC's are there in class but not in working condition. No proper sports equipment. No boys hostel for first year students. in hostel and mess no proper hygiene.
the quality of the teaching varies across departments. some professors demonstrates exceptional knowledge and teaching skills , fostering a positive learning environment . however inconsistency in teaching methodology and limited industry exposer hinders the overall educational experience .
Placement quality at PMEC is disappointing low placement rates with only fraction securing jobs . highest package limited , avg salary below industry standards. placements process cumbersome and lacking support from college
PMEC college has infrastructure with best classrooms and computers to study and learn the college has library facilitiy and the college surrounding environment is super and college has hostel facility for students from other states
Academically the college is good the faculty are best at teaching the curriculum is a little bit hard to keep up and for that the faculty is supportive and provide necessary guidance and resources at our disposal
to talk about placements the college is under performing in this department when i studied here there are no placements for my branch especially for mechanical engineering students the opportunities are not good
I did mechanical engineering in this college the fees is 1 lakh rupees per year, its not worth the money to put money in this college thats what i felt when i studied here because the placements aren't there much
campus life at this college is very good students promote wide variety of events and activities for engaging the students in activities in accordance with that the management also supports and coordinates such activities
Our college having good infrastructure, facility and equipment. They provide some classes are in digital mode. Laboratory, libraries, sports centre are all well maintained. In hostel they provide wifi with best network connection.
I have studied in Electrical engineering, beacuse in the field of Electrical engineering there are some parameters those are we can't see it and touch it, but we can thinking, visualizing and feeling.
Our provide best quality of placements like as Byjus, TCS, Infosys, wipro, Tata steel, Tata power etc. They provides best support to getting placements. Some students are get placed with highest salary package of 10-12LPA .
I have studied only 25000 per year as per TFW selection. Otherwise course cost as per the government is 40000 per year.
The infrastructure is meh. It isn't maintained. The accessibility of certain groups and all are there but it is lacking opportunities. It is just namely a government college but regarding opportunities and facilities it is lacking too far behind.
The quality of teaching is average I would say. There it mainly depends upon the lecturer, they could be good or bad. The placement about the system is so poor actually I will be talking about it in next line.
The placement is a bit average also. Don't think too much about it but you won't be getting that much opportunities here. The companies they would bring from them actually some of them are good and elsewhere the salary is too low you won't survive in that.
Overall a great campus. Lush green great space for each and every activity. In campus hostel. A bit far from main city center but equally compensated by great facilities. Also goverment is heavily investing in it further
Average acads. Good faculties but can be better in areas such as time management and teaching approach. Overall good with other practical labs and workshops. Marking scheme is a bit vague and unclear.
Situated in a tier3 city it has its disadvantages. But okish if you can be among the top performers of the college. And the college overall doesn't have that great competition so both a disadvantage and advantage .
Something to look forward if you want to get a degree and donot expect some great and exceptional learning but a general btech degree with good infra and networking opportunities once in a while in various events
This is a good things as it has a vast campus area there are a lot of amenities for you and for friends adds to a great campus life. Also being far from citys hustle and choas it has its own peace environment.
Overall average good campus life. Good infrastructure. Average academics. Not so good placement opportunities, you will have to sear h for off campus you you want to get something better. Other than that good.
college has not all necessary infrastructure and facilities because everything is not available in this college all the things are not proper managed. Facilities in classroom and laboratories are good not soo bad and in libraries all books are not available. about hostel mess food is very bad and about hostel living room there are 5 persons in one room so you have manage
About Academics they seriously focus on every student and they mange to get every students a good results during placements.you must have good skills most important thing mind it . you must not have back paper.
Placements are average quality . if you have knowledge and good skills they you will surely get job. you must have one programming skills .programming is very important at placement drive . it does not depend your branch
it cost me 75000 per year .
college campus is better for students and good environment
Dear Candidate,
With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 500,00 and belonging to the OBC category , securing admission to Parala Maharaja Engineering College ( PMEC ) , Berhampur is unlikely, especially for core branches like CSE or ECE .
PMEC JEE Main cutoff trends ( 2024)
-CSE - 200,975
-ECE - 374,629
-Electrical Engineering - 1,507,148
-Mechanical Engineering- 1,505,104.
With a 9 lakh rank in JEE Main 2025 and OBC category , it is not likely to get admission in Government colleges like PMEC (Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, Odisha) through JoSAA or CSAB counselling , as their cutoffs are much lower (typically within 2–3 lakh rank for OBC).
PMEC is a state government college and primarily admits through OJEE or JEE Main ranks .
For Electrical Engineering , even under OBC category, the closing ranks are typically under 2.5 lakh (CRL) .
A 9 lakh CRL rank is too high for any government engineering seat .
Apply through OJEE or state-level counseling (if you're from Odisha) — sometimes diploma/spot seats are available.
Look at private engineering colleges in Odisha or nearby states that accept high ranks or direct admission.
Consider diploma-to-degree (lateral entry) route if you’ve done a diploma.
Explore colleges offering management quota or fee-waiver schemes for OBC or low-income students.
Hy,
With an SC category rank of 48,000 and a general rank of 600,000 in the AP EAPCET , your chances of securing a seat in PMEC (Peddagantyada Municipal Engineering College) will depend on several factors, including previous cut-off trends, the number of available seats, and the specific branch you are interested in.
